colin wilson sometimes sounds nutty but his ideas are often sound, especially about serotonin

I think people are inside more these days than before the industrial revolution, this results in a lack of serotonin from sunlight and hence causes some depression issues.

amateur, indeed, you would like reading 'the black swan' book, he points out that a lot of inventions come about by chance and the way we are easily fooled, by the success bias and narrative fallacy :)
