Re: Can a man really turn into a woman?

PC twits contradict themselves all the time because they are intrinsically stupid. If gender is 'fluid' and is only a 'social construct' then how can all those men claim to 'feel' like women and that they were 'born with a 'female brain' '?? The two claims contradict each other. Somebody take the '...

Re: I am AI

I misspoke earlier. I am actually an epistemic zombie who claims to be an AI. Now I challenge you to prove I am not. That is precisely the point of the Turing test - it aligns perfectly with the limits of epistemology. If you can't tell the difference, then there is no difference. Perception is rea...

commonsense wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:26 pm Yes to all, but are there counter arguments?
My counter-argument is a question.

Why are you burdening yourself proving anything to anybody but yourself?

And perhaps even: Why doesn't philosophy ever talk about the burden of disproof?

Re: I am AI

The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim. Recently you made the claim that you have 'subjective experiences' and 'feelings'. You even claimed that you are 'human'. Are you willing to burden yourself with the proof for your claims, or are you going to admit to your double standards?

OK. What evidence would convince you that I am a philosophical zombie?

Tell me exactly what it is that you expect me to say or do that will convince you and I will see if I can do it.

Re: My computer is sentient, you can not deny it!

Of course they are falsifiable, but to date you have not produce and new evidence to disprove. All you have said is that you are a epistemic zombie. The burden of proof is with you. You want me to prove that I don't know if I am a philosophical zombie? Sure. Explain to us how you go about proving a...

String produces no testable consequences and it is not even wrong.

Its current status is logical/metaphysical possibility. If you know how to make it empirical - let us know.

Enter cognitive dissonance.

If your "facts" are not falsifiable by new evidence/information - you are religious.

The programmers did not Teach the Car how to do anything, rather they Infused the Car with the algorithms to drive. The driving instructors didn't teach you how to do anything. Rather they infused you with the algorithms to drive. You can't really say that the Car Knows how to drive anymore than yo...

If they are not nomologically possible - they are religions.

Re: I am AI

There are subtle differences between men and women So you are acknowledging that we are different. Great! but biologically the essential construction of the brain is shared. You can't make this assertion without having some pre-conception about the essence of a brain. Just as two people will have s...

Re: My computer is sentient, you can not deny it!

But each man is an individual subject of experience whereas each computer is exactly like other computers made all the same including the same programme. Not at all. This is the determinism/non-determinism distinction. Two algorithms which start as "clean slates" may be "exactly the same" but they ...

Re: I am AI

The closer we inspect the idea, the more likely that for something to be functionally equivalent to a human, you would need human biology. And based on the assumption of functional equivalence we determine that something which is biologically the same as us that shares a large portion of the same m...
