Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

You can either say it is all just a gang-land turf war, or you can claim it is a moral crusade, but it is a bit odd to try to combine the two. The morality in it is the destruction of the enemies of Western civilization. Defending you family and your people. Defending the apotheosis of civilization...

But that's the media for you. Leftist ideologues, from beginning to end. Fairness is just not in them. The news media has an obligation to report events that connect the now to the narrative of history. The BBC may actually be turning the corner on this point as judged by their website cover storie...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

My point is that it is a mistake to think there is something special about the current (historically low levels) of violence that must be explained by Islam. What differentiated the violence committed by Muslims from that committed by the West in the Middle-East is that Western violence is in the s...

Re: Ontario to experiment with universal basic income

This policy seems to be an ethical social policy in that it violates no one's rights, nor their dignity. Yet it is liberating; and solves several moral dilemmas and eliminates some disvalues and some misery. It adds, and even multiplies, positive value. Your views? Sign me up! My family and I will ...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

Rightwing terrorism doesn’t just get less media attention than Islamist terrorism – it gets less attention in policy. ... over the past 25 years. They’ve killed 255 people in these attacks and injured 600 more 75% of that count comes from a single incident twenty-two years ago, the Oklahoma City bo...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

These'll be those indigenous people who taught your pilgrims how to survive and saved them from starvation would it? Bet they wish they hadn't now. Because they would prefer to cling to life as stone-age hunter-gathers rather than enjoy all the privilege and comfort of life as citizens of a modern ...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

The best that can be hoped with is a walled - gated - community surrounded by a slum. Is that where we want to go? Isn't that a little....risky? It is I expect the most likely outcome, for now. My view on power systems is something like this: As wealth and knowledge accrue in a system it is initial...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

Big week for islamists. Ariana Grande concert blown up, 100 girls killed or maimed, overran a major city, Marawi, in the Philippines, and closer to home, a double bombing. Just reading, fifteen years ago, 70% supported Shariah, today it has risen to 80, minus out the non-Muslim population and nation...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

I'm personally quite critical of Islam, but I'll grant there are some gems in it such as Sufism, a unique artistic tradition, in my view the story of the crucifixion in the Qur'an is the same as in Christianity despite how it has been interpreted to imply Simon of Cyrene swapped places with Jesus, ...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

Islam seems routinely to create anger, violence, repression, sexism, terrorism, and so forth. In the Inglehart–Welzel cultural map there appears to be a chicken-and-egg problem. Are the poor countries in the bottom and left of the map poor because they are authoritarian and uncreative or are they a...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

The great hope of the masses of the developing world was prosperity and freedom. But as the prosperity and freedom that came to the 3rd world was largely brought in my the colonizers, not an indigenous accomplishment, when the developing world was left to fend for itself, there was a total failure....

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

 So you concede that internal and not external forces better explain the collapse of Islamic civilization and regret that cognitive distortion was making it impossible to analyze objectively and grant that America and the West have amazing merits. What are you blithering about you pompous fool...

I suggest you do all that. And then move to your dream, the US. You might have to live in a car for a while (if you have one). And they don't like muslims much. I have already laid out my time-line and argument why internal and not external forces better explain the collapse of Islamic civilization...

Re: I am an Islamophobe. If you are not, you might not be a moral person.

Look it up yourself. Am I your mother? Go and live in the US and live off McDonald's for all I give a flying fuck about. I would suggest a somewhat different narrative which I have sketched above. The collapse of Islamic civilization is best explained by internal and not external forces: ... And I ...
