Re: Isn't the definition of infinitesimal contradictory?

....Infinitely many infinitesimals are summed to produce an integral." I thought that the integral was the limit of a series of sums. I don’t think the integral is a sum outright but rather if you take a series of a particular type of sum and then take the limit of that series you get the integral

Re: Can you get something out of nothing?

My answer is yes. When you multiply 0 by infinity, the answer is indeterminate. This means the answer may be 0 or 1 or 2 or infinity. You would need further information to specify the answer. Since 0 is nothing, under ordinary circumstances, you would expect 0 as an answer. But with infinity, all b...

Re: Why Physicalism is Wrong

Grant Bartley argues that to say the mind is physical is an abuse of language. https://philosophynow.org/issues/126/Why_Physicalism_is_Wrong “What is physicalism?” Is a question that requires the question “What is physics?” to be answered to save physicalism from being just the bald statement. “Phy...

Re: 7 Senses

I think that feeling and thinking are in another category. And there are deep relations between them. Much of what we call feeling is a kind of thinking and some of what we call thinking - some alternative ontological states of mind, for example, are feeling/thinking. The divine perception of Being ...

Re: The Point as Zero Dimensional as Cause for Fracturing of Modern Philosophy/Science

I think you are wrong. The fundamental structure is a 4 dimensional manifold. In this context "manifold" refers to a "topological manifold." It is just a shorter name. A topological manifold is a type of topology. Not all topologies are topological manifolds but all topological manifolds are topolog...

Re: What is Space?

Differences are purely conceptual, they have no existential reality in and of themselves. Differences are existential within the dream of separation, illusions appearing real as the dream is real, as the dreamer is real.. Differences are not purely conceptual, they have existential reality in and o...

Re: What is Space?

.....edges are illusory because they are the contents of an edge-less boundary-less seeing. Perhaps it is better to say that an edge-less boundary-less seeing can be edge-less boundary-less edge seeing or edge-less boundary-less no edge seeing, depending on the circumstances, and that that is a rea...

Re: What is Space?

For example, if I believe I am seeing a red dot on a white background but there is no sensory pathway but rather an hallucination is occurring and I am only red dot on a white background seeing then there is an ILLUSION present. All dimensions of reality are hidden within each other as multiple lay...

Re: What is Space?

....Everything is seeing the same world. Images are appearances in seeing, therefore, edges are illusory ... This statement has the logical structure of a non-sequitor. In order to show that I must show that there exists at least one possible case where if "everything is seeing the same world" and ...

There is no space without an object. There is no object without space. There is no space in where an object begins and ends...it's all one seamless image. . How is this possible? Any ideas? . There could have been an empty space. There could be sets of objects not in a space. The image has many sea...

Re: Is there a primary cause?

Does A cause B? How do we determine that without going deeper? And then how do we determine that without going still deeper? Maybe C causes A and B. Same questions of determination. Then you have to deal with time issues where you go back further and further through time where either you run out of...

A rather simple question, but the most difficult of them all: What is the meaning of life? I prefer the answer of Rilke: The purpose of life is to be defeated by greater and greater things.

What do you think?
