Re: How did knowing God change you?

I learned about levels of fear and evilness that I would have never imagined otherwise... and I learned self-doubt, desperation, and pretense. I also learned about the power of intoxication of group-mentality. I already instinctively knew about love and connection, so I did not need the experience o...

Re: Is losing it ever your best bet?

They say it's always best to remain calm in a crisis but most rules seem to have an exception. Are there any circumstances under which the best strategy would be to panic? I don't think it's ever BEST to panic. Although, it can be hard to avoid sometimes. Screaming and flailing in panic uses ...

...take a look at Lacewing's posts -- all sweet and mushy, but dare touch her candy and it's all tempermental shrew. What are you talking about... I share my candy! You may not like my observations and challenges for you, but it's your big baby ego having a tantrum and lashing out at me... rather t...

Re: How did knowing God change you?

We know you are a master at evading answering, but you could have simply avoided saying anything. Why say something which even other Theists can see is a cop out? Let us see if you have the integrity to give a straight answer once. How did it change you? It appears that the empty self-absorbed arro...

Re: Who Really is an Atheist?

This thread indicates that on this site a least, there are far more blind deniers than atheists who serve the cause of purification. Are you aware of how much you are making up? In life... in general... in how you define how things are. Or are you convinced that everything is absolutely solid and d...

Re: Why atheists compare God to santa

Why do you label the basis of your peak experiences to be "God"? If you'd not been taught about deities how might you have interpreted the peak experiences that believers claim to be God? Excellent points, Greta. Before I learned about the idea of God, I had already experienced a natural connection...

Re: Chocolate

Harbal, do you think anyone is watching us have this conversation? It seems very quiet.

Oh wait... I see Vege has just responded. I wonder why she's watching if it sickens her? Sounds like she needs some chocolate.

Re: Chocolate

I am going to make it an ambition to one day accompany you rolling in the grass, laughing between taking mouthfuls of chocolate. If you find the thought of this off putting I would just like to add that I am not particularly hairy and am prepared to apply a liberal application of antiperspirant. Yo...

Re: Chocolate

Sometimes eating chocolate makes me moan with pleasure. Great. This is what I'm looking for. I'm honored to contribute to your esteemed study. Believe me, men are not reluctant to focus on the experiencing of pleasure, but, if you are saying they are not as willing to openly express the experience,...

Re: Chocolate

Sometimes eating chocolate makes me moan with pleasure. It seems women can more easily get away with being focused on such indulgent expressions of pleasure... whereas men are more focused on being sweaty and hairy. I'm glad to be a woman.

Re: Why atheists compare God to santa

Saying one knows God, is not the same as knowing. Anyone can say and believe and make-up and distort ANYTHING. Identifying oneself as a theist ensures NOTHING. The statement below is obviously and fully applicable to theists too, as is proven by what is continually being demonstrated through their w...

I like your attitude towards life. In fact, I'm quite envious. Well you are a treasured contributor to my attitude, as you give me reason to log onto this site and giggle at the things you write. :D So many people don't see how hilarious and absurd it is that they take themselves so seriously. Your...

Re: Why atheists compare God to santa

Answer: because men don't know God, and because prejudice is easier than knowledge, mockery is easier than reason, self-satisfaction is more pleasant than self-examination, mutual congratulation is more companionable than the lone quest for truth, and men love darkness rather than the Light. (John ...
