Re: Philosophy videos

Do you often feel scorned, rejected, and powerless. Is that why you have embraced a philosophy where powerlessness is evil? Is that why you overpower people with your thoughts? Do you feel as though that will fill the hole in your heart that yearns to be heard and understood? Well don't take people...

Re: The Moral Imagination

Since animals are capable of rudimentary communication, as I supplied earlier, it is likely they have some form of thought, other than simply a sentient, feeling, hungry beast on prowl, but with no thought. As such, the possibility of hallucinatory and or delusion conditions still apply, perhaps no...

Re: The Moral Imagination

Animals act with instinct for the good of the pack, there is no understanding of empathy or altruism. No different than a human. Because you slap words on it doesn't make it more relevant. I already mentioned dogs can speak rudimentary English. Humans are automatons, no different that other animals...

Re: Wood and Chair question

Hi all, This is my first post :) I have been wondering this for some time. My question may be badly formuated, so apologies! Is there a word to differenciate two objects, one which is 'natural' and the other which has been constructed. i.e wood and chair? Although wood has intrinsic existence, a ch...

Re: The One Life

... Thanks for this dogma, what a full mental fart you have given us. You say all of this like it is a fact. The least you could have done is not made it read like a bunch of run-ons. I seriously doubt that everyone's thoughts are the same, and you didn't bother to prove any of your claims. Perhaps...

Re: Richard Dawkins

Great thinkers—or as Dimnet called them, “people possessed of a mastering purpose leaving no room for inferior occupations”—stand apart for the “directness of their intellectual vision.” The mind of the weak thinker, on the other hand, has a “fatal capacity for letting in extraneous thoughts or men...

Re: The Moral Imagination

"The moral imagination is the principal possession that man does not share with the beasts. It is man’s power to perceive ethical truth, abiding law, in the seeming chaos of many events. Without the moral imagination, man would live merely day to day, or rather moment to moment, as dogs do. It is t...

Re: The Greatest Story Never Told, Part 1

. I did not come here to sell goods, I provide ideas for free . Anything for free is worth what you pay for it. Sheerly false, money is no object, and it's popularity, value of trade, and how many green pieces of paper it takes to get it is not a reliable measure of "worth", which "worth" is in of ...

Re: The Greatest Story Never Told, Part 1

Well science itself is the intangible, what I meant by science was what you are taught in schools. I wasn't talking about high school science I was referring to empirical science. The speed of light relativity theories are incorrect, me and several others have reasons as to why, but it's out of the...

Mayan pyramid is only a metaphor, it could be any kind of pyramid, Aztec, Incan, Hindu, even Egyptian. Also my fantasy was I was never to be on top, but the bottom. Well my fantasy was always to be on top of the pyramid. I think that those on the bottom are imagining themselves to be on the top. Th...

Re: Why are people scared of philosophy?

According to the youtube video that she suggested that I watch, everyone has the inclination to submit—to follow. Leaders only lead because they want to live vicariously through their servants. S&M is a pure form of sex in the sense that drugs have a pure form. I took offense to that last part, bec...

Re: Where does value lie?

Say you have a diamond. A very well-cut diamond. What would determine its value? Maybe a person or group of people would give it its value. Maybe all of the people in the world gives it its value, whether or not they're aware of its existence. Maybe the diamond would still have value, even if there...

Re: Pleasure is the only thing that makes us good people

I wish to prove once and for all that I, including everyone else who suffers from depression and/or anhedonia (anhedonia being an absence of pleasure), that we are all inferior human beings with inferior worthless lives. Hmm, looks like someone has a fetish for their own psychopathy. That's an awfu...
