Re: Can there be more than one right answer?

it doesn't make sense (to me) that there would be single "rightness" about anything. A couple of questions which might well only have one one correct answer would be... Is president Trump's hair a little bit fake? Is this a question? A couple of questions with more than one correct answer would be....

Can you make an anagram?

Here's an anagram:

SILENT
TINSEL
LISTEN
ENLIST
INLETS

The same letters rearranged. Many anagrams are amusing, like dormitory and dirty room.

You can find many amusing or clever anagrams from the internet. Do you have any to contribute?

Those mysterious electrons

The electrons move about atoms in shells. Here are some questions: 1) Why do they keep orbiting about the nuclei? 2) How far away can they move from the nuclei? 3) QM says electrons could occupy any space no matter how far away they are from the nuclei. Yet they never break away from the atom. Why? ...

Philosophy is certainly alive and thriving in science fiction.
So true (Star Trek is a good example).

Can there be more than one right answer?

Maybe the answer depends on what is meant by "right." Which may depend on the question. Or maybe there's more to this.

I'm adding another idea to this discussion. How about
3D printing? Could it be used to feed people? The technology is advancing rapidly.

Re: Can science be unified?

My belief is yes. At one time, elliptical equations and modular forms were regarded as different mathematical
objects until Andrew Wiles proved them the same which solved Fermat's puzzle (read Fermat's Enigma by Simon Singh). You should also read up on Langland's Program.

When were miniskirts gone? but I think wearing miniskirts is more a matter of the age of the woman than it is related to the stock market. I didn't mean it that way. Re: Can women judge beauty the same way men do and vice-versa?

In terms of writers, we have Mary Shelley (Frankenstein),
Emily Dickinson and others that come to mind, but for painters and musicians in the classical arts, even to the present day, I can't think of any female examples.

Why this should be, I haven't a clue.

I think you mean 'genius', which is far more prevalent in males. I can't even think of any female ones off the top of my head.
Not genius (imaginative yes such as MC Escher who created impossible figures).

Re: Can women judge beauty the same way men do and vice-versa?

There seems to be a male dominance in the arts as I indicated which I attribute to male hormones as I don't recall any prominent female artists in painting and music. It seems that women don't have the ability to judge what would interest men and women in music and painting and possibly other areas ...
