Re: If life gives you lemons...

Simplistic way to go about it. How do you know that when you die you won't reincarnate into another life which you would deem "crappy? The point I have been trying to say is there is a reason people don't seek a medicine which makes them permanently smiles, and laughing, we call that joker-toxin an...

Re: If life gives you lemons...

In the event that we have major problems that can never recover, then we should all just kill ourselves since we would be nothing more than malfunctioning machines that need to be thrown and tossed away into the metal scraps. Already thought of that but it won't work. I realize life is a bad thing....

If life gives you lemons...

Here are some imagined responses and my replies to them to show you what my firm and strict attitude is in life regarding suffering and problems. It is my attitude regarding if I were to have a major problem in life. Therefore, here are some imagined responses and my replies to them to show you what...

Re: Evolution defines pleasure as the only good

I am going to bring up an important point I made in one of my other posts and I am going to explain further on it: "We can use images and famous portraits to convey who we are as a person. If, for example, you were a composer, then you might choose to have an image of Beethoven as an expression of w...

Re: Evolution defines pleasure as the only good

Too many people are just accepting of suffering due to them thinking that they are still good people even with much suffering and/or an absence of pleasure in their lives. These words you have written are totally absurd. Delle assurde stronzate. Who could accept suffering? Do you know what sufferin...

Re: Evolution defines pleasure as the only good

I am going to state something extremely important here. It is something truly amazing. When I had this depression and anhedonia (absence of pleasure), this lead me to a personal belief (conclusion) that pleasure is the only truly good thing in life, suffering is the only truly bad thing in life, whi...

Re: Evolution defines pleasure as the only good

My pleasure (all good feelings) is what I deem as my personal life. I must have that back. Or someone dies. It won't be an innocent person who is trying to help me recover my pleasure. It would instead be someone who mocks me by telling me to accept my absence of pleasure. How could I possibly accep...

Re: My Final and Most Convincing Argument for Hedonism

Are you basking in happy hedonism? Well, let me just say this. We have good, bad, and neutral (neither good or bad). But the version of good and bad that comes from everything else in life besides our feelings of pleasure and suffering, they are all the neutral version of good and bad. In other wor...

I'm not sure what you mean here. Could you explain?

Re: My Final and Most Convincing Argument for Hedonism

I am actually a male. I will speak a brief statement though about my personal life. But after that, then I will get back to the deep philosophical discussion since this is a philosophy forum after all: Dude, I already knew the gist of what you're talking about a long time ago. Who taught you that y...

Evolution defines pleasure as the only good

There are 3 pleasure states: negative (hopelessness), neutral (anhedonia), and positive (feeling pleasure). The negative state of pleasure (depression), depression is also a natural response by evolution to discourage our survival aside from it being something such as a chemical imbalance or the res...

Re: My Final and Most Convincing Argument for Hedonism

I'm not sure what you mean here. I already did explain my personal thoughts because I explained how pleasure is the only good thing about me and my life through my hedonistic arguments. As for the electric shock treatment, I would have to actually replace that term with TMS which would be a much sa...

Re: My Final and Most Convincing Argument for Hedonism

Dude I asked for a personalized description of what happens in your mind, to YOU specifically. Your thoughts, your feelings, your experiences, etc. What you wrote sounds like a psychological muse for other people. "On one side of the spectrum you have people who are so severely depressed that they ...
