Re: Karl Marx: Man & Mind

And who will make the decisions in this communist utopia? The charlatans, the liars , the cheats and the tyrants. Why would there be someone other than each individual making the decision of whom to co-operate with in such a system? Communism in such a model is pretty close to libertarianism withou...

Re: Karl Marx: Man & Mind

Marx's :"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!” is not a blueprint for utopia... it is a recipe for tyranny. Not really as this was the blueprint. "In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labour, an...

Re: People dont understand me by my speech

Hello members, i have a problem. Even when im talkin to my Dad, he must ask twice what ive got to tell him. Why am I so unconcentrated in my speech? I cant give power in my voice. So that the others could hear what im sayin. Im so sad about it, that its nearly senseless, to communicate with others ...

Re: Logik's guide to successful detox from Philosophy Now

Well I can't resist adding my tuppence worth to this thread. IMO Logic was not a genuine philosopher. And yes he/she was Timekeeper too. ... Well yes, he admitted to it but so what? What is your point? What is a genuine philosopher? Same as a genuine duck, but different. I tried to engage with him ...

Well I can't resist adding my tuppence worth to this thread. IMO Logic was not a genuine philosopher. And yes he/she was Timekeeper too. I tried to engage with him to see where he was coming from.. but I couldn't find anything. When probed on his posts he would usually shift the topic somewhat with ...

Seriously, what is the most selfish act on earth?

Re: Freedom of Religion

And so now we are back to politics. No, we aren't. I just point out to you that the thing to which you are looking for a ground for "rights" cannot provide what you're looking for. Instead, any political or legal rights have to be proven on the basis of something that comes before all "rights," and...

Re: Freedom of Religion

One does not need a treatise such as Locke's to know that one has an inherent freedom... You mean "right"? If you're free to do something, you don't need a right. You only need to be able to invoke a right when that freedom is in danger of not being allowed you. And to advocate for your right -- ov...

Re: Freedom of Religion

And do you think that some foundation of rights based upon something called 'freedom of conscience' would make one iota of difference to the freedom of people in Soviet Russia, slaves in USA etc ? I think that when you're locked up in a gulag or on a plantation, your freedom of conscience is about ...

And do you think that some foundation of rights based upon something called 'freedom of conscience' would make one iota of difference to the freedom of people in Soviet Russia, slaves in USA etc ? Re: Freedom of Religion

Rights are a political entity. All they require is a simple majority.. or preferably a comprehensive one. If so, people in Soviet Russia had no right to free speech. Jews in Germany had no right to life. Slaves in pre-Civil-War America had no right to be free. And today, women in Islamic countries ...
