Re: are women to blame for tyranny?

People love to blame others for most everything.. it helps them feel good about themselves.. blame the left, blame the right, blame terrorists, blame men, blame women, blame the rich , blame the poor... etc. etc. etc.. But if you have a problem and you really want to do something about it... blame ...

Re: People dont understand me by my speech

yes, excellent movie - much better than the latter remake with Lancaster (a greater actor - top 10 of all time IMO, but that latter movie kinda sucked). aside, the "other guy" in Zulu kinda sucked, i noted him in the other excellent movie "Hell's Drivers" - where he was "star" - but as i noted in Z...

Re: People dont understand me by my speech

not sue i understand your post. Zulu was a great movie and one the fist ones with Caine i could understand what he was saying. Caine never acquired an American accent, he just moderated his more natural-earlier cockney to more - knings englishish - or slowed his talk down - or whatever - whatever h...

Re: Karl Marx: Man & Mind

No, If each individual makes their decisions for themselves, then you have individual autonomy and not democracy. if the majority enforces their "collective" will on you, you have democracy -Imp People can choose have to have a collective authority. Especially if they have a degree of control over ...

Re: People dont understand me by my speech

try finding old Caine works - he was a horrid cockney! uninteligible. i assume he knew this because post 1970 he was understandable. he had to have worked on it. he was BAD prior to 70. as an american i could not understand anything he said in his early works. love Caine BTW - not disparaging the m...

Re: Karl Marx: Man & Mind

And who will make the decisions in this communist utopia? The charlatans, the liars , the cheats and the tyrants. Why would there be someone other than each individual making the decision of whom to co-operate with in such a system? Communism in such a model is pretty close to libertarianism withou...

Re: Karl Marx: Man & Mind

Marx's :"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!” is not a blueprint for utopia... it is a recipe for tyranny. Not really as this was the blueprint. "In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labour, an...

Re: Logik's guide to successful detox from Philosophy Now

Well I can't resist adding my tuppence worth to this thread. IMO Logic was not a genuine philosopher. And yes he/she was Timekeeper too. ... Well yes, he admitted to it but so what? What is your point? What is a genuine philosopher? Same as a genuine duck, but different. I tried to engage with him ...
