Re: Prove An Independent Reality-in-Itself Exists

Your whole argument at this point to claim a winning position is merely based on the above which are frivolous matters to the main arguments of this OP. I say again, Regardless of what I claimed re the above or you claimed otherwise re the above frivolous points, they have no significance to the ar...

Re: Natural music

I believe that I can prove that the music of electronic musical instruments, electric guitars, is not art, but an illusion of art. This illusion is global and ruins true art. Natural music remained almost exclusively in classical music. I, on the other hand, believe that you cannot prove that music...

Re: Prove An Independent Reality-in-Itself Exists

Regardless of what I claimed re the above or you claimed otherwise re the above frivolous points, they have no significance to the argument re the OP and the realist vs anti-realist issue. They are frivolous and petty issues, that also just happen to be the frivolous and petty issues you brought up...

Re: Naturism.

Veganman wrote: Sun Mar 21, 2021 3:37 pm Does anyone have any philosophical thoughts on the subject/lifestyle of naturism?
I don't see why they would call it naturism instead of plain nudism. Naturism seems to imply the notion that they are "more natural" than the rest of people, but that's evidently a naive illusion.

Re: Philosophical Realism and Antirealism as a False Dichotomy

1. Yet you divided perception/gaining awareness into two facets...thus a dichotomy was created as one is not the other. You can go on dividing it further but any further terms results in further dichotomies considering there is the term and there is the negation of said term as another term. All di...

Re: Prove An Independent Reality-in-Itself Exists

As I had stated I had never claimed to be an absolute expert on those subject but merely a reasonable expert. You're neither an absolute expert, nor a reasonable expert, nor an expert in any level in relation to the realism/antirealism issue, you're just a philosophy fan with no credentials writing...

Re: Prove An Independent Reality-in-Itself Exists

As I have stated you are making too much noises focusing on frivolous and petty issues rather that presenting a proper argument to support your realism against anti-realism in relation to the OP. Yes, they are frivolous and petty issues, that also just happen to be the frivolous and petty issues yo...

Re: Philosophical Realism and Antirealism as a False Dichotomy

1. Yet in dividing "perception/gaining awareness" you create a dichotomy...unless I misread it and you are stating there is no division at all to which I would have to agree with you. Divisions are not necessarily dichotomies, although dichotomies are necessarily divisions. I pointed at d...

Re: Prove An Independent Reality-in-Itself Exists

Which key author[s] I have missed out? All those that you have admitted missing out. Do I need to refresh that? I read Meillassoux long time ago, cannot remember his views on Kant. Your only twice mentioned 'Bunge' then Bhaskar are insignificant I have not touched Bunge. I don't remember Meillassou...

Re: Prove An Independent Reality-in-Itself Exists

Rigorous is critical, but I don't have to be rigorous in this circumstances. I had mentioned, Donald Judd's " Critical Realism and Composition Theory Donald Judd" many times. So the mistaken name should not be a big issue. Ha! Sure, you can be as clumsy and unrigorous as you want, but the...

I have posted the "Introduction" from A Realist Theory of Science Roy Bhaskar, in this thread https://forum.philosophynow.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&p=527031#p527031 I have read it thoroughly and I believe it is representative of Bhaskar's view [full of holes], also note I mentioned Chapte...

Re: Prove An Independent Reality-in-Itself Exists

Re: Philosophical Realism and Antirealism as a False Dichotomy

1. "No one is talking about dichotomies" is what you stated, yet this OP is about dichotomies (specifically Realism and Antirealism) and how said dichotomies are false. How many times do I have to explain this? I didn't expect from you to have great reasoning skills, but I did expect that...
