Re: These are major assumptions that make sense

Simply because for every choice you make I can ask this question in a moralistic framework : Is your CHOICE right or wrong ? What if my moralistic framework says it is right and your moralistic framework says it is wrong ? Do you have a methodology that will resolve such a dilemma to mutual satisfa...

If you believe in objective morality ( and I do )
Subjective is the context of an object from the perspective of a subject while objective is context free because there
is no subject to actually provide any perspective. You therefore can not have a subject claiming anything as objective

Re: Why humans can't get rid of their egos ?

I have worked myself to a perspective as to why the concept of God ( just like the concept of Truth ) is absolute fucking horseshit yet a total pragmatic necessity for humanity It is SO that men like me ultra egoists / ultra moralists sanctimonious pricks power driven Nietzschean ubermensch find an...

Change is a universal constant so adapting to it is not only beneficial but necessary as well
And so I always try to accept change particularly that over which I have little or no control

Re: Einstein on the train

No scientific fact can or indeed should be regarded as absolutely true because of the problem of induction Even theories which are the highest classification in science could be potentially falsified by new evidence Facts and laws and theories are approximations which are incredibly accurate but are...

To philosophize about a dead cat or about an alive cat is to take a position
If you have taken a position you are claiming knowledge
A position can be hypothetical without actually being a knowledge claim

Philosophy has a purpose which is to ask the right questions

If you want anything to philosophise about - first you need knowledge
You can philosophise from a point of zero knowledge so it is not actually necessary
Though its more preferable to have some epistemological foundation to work from

Do you think you can get to ontology without epistemology
Ontology is philosophy / epistemology is science - they are therefore not very compatible
So using one to get to the other is not going to work - much better to keep them separate

Re: The Impossibility of Infinite Time

The Planck scale like the Big Bang is a limit that physics cannot go beyond but it is probably only temporary
For at some point it may be possible to reduce it and observe events and how time operates at such a scale

What you describe as Source is for me simply Existence which manifests itself in physical form as the Universe Everything is connected to everything else and so we cannot think of ourselves as separate from all that exists We are a part of Existence a part of the Universe which is in a constant stat...

And yet we expect axioms to remain fixed If the map is to be useful it needs to resemble the teritory in SOME way Axioms are not set in stone but subject to revision whenever new knowledge is discovered Axioms set in stone are dogmatic and useless because they cannot be altered in any way Of course...

How do you know you are a temporary observer ? This is the default position for me although it might not be true but that doesnt bother me What matters is that I just let it be and do not hold on to it any more than I really have to Being wrong doesnt actually matter if you know how to let go so fo...
