Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
But you have to know and judge their behavior in order to be active. Why? You have to judge how do deal with people. You have to judge whether they are doing something 'deviant' or dangerous or trivial or harmless. Then you have to decide how to deal with it. That would seem to be fairly obvious. O...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
Objective morality is a fiction... Here's the interesting thing about a fiction: it only works if it gives off the illusion of fact. The worlds fiction creates have to look or seem real, and the characters and situations have to strike us as human and plausible, even in the wildest fiction. That is...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
So what do you do? Stand by and watch? Wait for the last judgement? What do you do? You believe God now, and go His way, accept His moral standard, and establish your ongoing relationship with Him. Or, you use yourself as your moral 'standard,' and wait and hear the truth later. We aren't "sta...

I don't have to. You just did it.iambiguous wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 8:55 pm Right, right. You're job is to remind us that no one can be saved unless they accept Jesus Christ as their own personal savior.
So you know. And my responsibility to you is finished. It's up to you, now.

Nevertheless, you are obviously fascinated by it. Ummm...nope, sorry. :? Not even remotely interested, actually. It was you who brought it up -- If you don't want to hear about it, has it occurred to you to stop referring to it? Gladly. Now, what did you want to say, before you did the spont...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
Well, as a Christian, aren't your sexual propensities the business of God? Everyone's are business of God. But yours and Harbal's are not mine. I am not the Judge. And it's not my job to set the standard for you. There is One who does that, and you must do your business with Him. So what do you do?...

That's just the way I am. Since you weren't asking me for any reason, it seems rather gratuitous...and out of context... Asking you what? I don't know. Why were you suddenly talking about your private sexual proclivities? I can't recall having asked, and it's certainly none of my business..." :?

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
The participants were the entire German nation. So I would say that persecuting and killing Jews was a negative. They would have done much better by not doing it. Well, that's what you would say. So would I. But Hitler would not. The Nazis would not. And what about the other cases...for there are m...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
If two people, of either opposite or same sex, engage in sexual activity and are not married to each other, or ever intend to be married to each other, or even intend to see each other again, and have no conflicting emotion commitments to anyone else, then they are not doing anything morally wrong....

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
You have done what you usually do. You have replaced the situation I gave you with something completely different. So you didn't mean to imply sex with somebody you're not married to? You meant something "completely different"? "Completely"? What did you mean, then? If t...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
Moralities are 'objectively moral' if they produce some benefit for the participants. That's problematic. Killing Jews produced a decided advantage for Hitler. It gave him a scapegoat for all Germany's problems, and a rallying point for the resentment of the people. The gulags were a benefit to Sta...
