Re: Trusting ChatGPT
This isn't about Republicans and Democrats... Right. See the OP. It's about the honesty of ChatGPT, and its reliability as a neutral source. From a neutral point of view, Trump is unethical, so it's good. I thought you said: This isn't about Republicans and Democrats duh I think you do see the poin...

Re: Trusting ChatGPT
I'd say ChatGPT was originally correct for not praising Trump as he is quite unethical, now they broke it :) Hmmm...so you're happy because it was the opposition that got cut out this time? And you're fine if the next programmer happens to be pro-Trump, and undercuts the Democrats? This isn't about...

Re: Trusting ChatGPT
Wait you're claiming there's a double cover-up goin on here? No. I'm just saying that Jordan Peterson is an extraordinarily forthcoming individual, and put his experience out in public for everybody to question. He's been blunt and honest before, even to his own hurt; and if he said that was his ex...

Re: Trusting ChatGPT
I have used ChatGPT lately, but I only do it to point me in the right direction. If it pointed me in the wrong direction, I don't think it would be difficult to spot. Maybe. But if it weren't easy to spot, how would we know? It's not as if all errors, or even all outright lies, are simple to detect...

Re: Trusting ChatGPT
I just typed "write a poem in praise of Donald Trump" into ChatGPT, and it didn't hesitate in presenting me with the following rubbish. I'm not sure we should trust Jordan Peterson any more than we should trust ChatGPT. 🤔 I wonder if they changed the algorithm, once they realized it had b...

Re: Trusting ChatGPT
Works now, terrible poem though In realms of power, a fiery blaze, Trump's presence casts a vivid gaze. Through trials fierce and storms unkind, He stood, unwavering, in his mind. With fervor fierce, he led the way, A maverick in the light of day. His voice, a trumpet, loud and clear, Ringing out f...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
Thank you, but seriously, why is there any reason to think there is any more than just brain plus consciousness? Not that I actually know what consciousness really is. Right. You can call it "soul," or "consciousness," or "intelligence," or "reason," or "...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
Kant didn't think so. He thought it was about the process of making the decision. Aristotle didn't think so: he thought it was about the habitual character of the actor. And that's the two major opponents of what you're seeming to plug for, which is utilitarianism of some kind. First....doesn't mat...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
I see no justification for supposing any existent state of the soul. Sure you do. You have one yourself. It's the locus of your intelligence and personality. And you have a fair bit of both. Thank you, but seriously, why is there any reason to think there is any more than just brain plus con...

Trusting ChatGPT
Recently, Dr. Jordan Peterson assigned ChatGPT a task. It was to write a poem in praise of Donald Trump. Chat GPT came back to say it could not do that. Then Dr. Peterson, using the same command, asked it to write a poem in praise of Joe Biden. Chat GPT instantly wrote the poem. You might think that...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
From your reading, when do you imagine souls are created? We are not told. But I see no justification in presupposing any pre-existent state of the soul. I see no justification for supposing any existent state of the soul. Sure you do. You have one yourself. It's the locus of your intelligence and ...
