Re: Our Business of Aiding
Since the dawn of monetary economies, capitalisms and the free market, the standard of living has increased exponentially. This is largely due to the incentives for the individual, the reward for an egoist. I think, following the trajectory of our economy, that in order to best help the developing w...

Silk road shut down: Arresting an individual or an Ideal?
I have written an article regarding the recent arrest and seizure of the biggest on-line drug marketplace to date. "Silk road was an on-line market place which provided a platform for ‘buyers’ and ‘sellers’ to deal with each other anonymously. It is a platform which functioned, and was only acc...

Re: Disagree with me.
Okay, so I'm picking up two stems of thought: Gingko: (tell me if i have misrepresented you) you're coming at it from a structuralism perspective, a chair can only be meaningfully discussed with the context of the words use in mind- that is why a a physicist and a salesman can both talk about a chai...

Disagree with me.
I subscribe to the notion I first read articulated by John Stuart Mill: ideas are strengthened, indeed only truly understood, having been subjected to an open criticism and debate. Only then do we properly know the objections of our viewpoint and its retorts. Thats being said: A chair is only a chai...

YES! Validation has never tasted so sweet
Mind you, i was hoping for someone to drop a Nietzsche' bomb on me. Come on guys! Philosophy is no fun if we don't disagree.

Re: New philosophy blog: beggars and language.
Come on guys! Somebody here must want to explain how wrong i am and tell me not to quit my job. You've not really said anything yet. I wouldn't leave the day-job just yet. Not unless you can afford to that is. Or, tell me how awesome i am and ask me how to fund my first book! Why would I ask you ho...

Re: When Life Kicks You in the Face...
If we look at the process in a natural sense, perhaps we can talk about it in terms of adaption/evolution. Life kicks your ass; your shakey and unsure. You lose the foundations that make you strong. Philosophy or religion seen in this sense offers tools to understand the ass kicking we receive. Give...

Nice mockery of my random use of the bold function. You have to admit though, it really catches the eye.

Re: New philosophy blog: beggars and language.
Powerful .gif response. I won't lie, I had to take a breather after that one. You cut me deep. The blog is something new to me, evidently. I see it as a platform to write down my thoughts. Pretty much a journal that anyone can pick up and read, maybe have a chat if they fancy it. That said, I take y...

New philosophy blog: beggars and language.
It's been a while: school, work and travel are heavy things to juggle. I have begun a new blog, centering around philosophy, politics and business (usually a combination the three). I really subscribe to the idea that Mill's puts forward in 'On liberty'. To really understand your own viewpoint and t...
