Re: Recommend me a movie.

"Dark Star". Sci-Fi-Film in which an astronaut tries to teach phenomenology to an intelligent bomb to convince it not to explode. First movie by John Carpenter. No budget - but lots of humour.

Re: What is the point of life?

Hi Matt24, i understand you look out for some meaning in life. Maybe an older post of mine might be of entertaining inspiration. It´s titled: Planet We - A new approach towards the meaning of life (Sorry, i would have posted the direct link but i don´t know how to do it. You might have to search for...

If infinite parallel universes exist ...

... then it is obvious that there is an infinite number of universes in which a certain event x occurs. At the same time there is an infinite number of universes in which the given event x does not occur. So if we randomly draw one of this infinite number of universes out of our magic hat and the dr...

Re: The universe expands ...

An interesting bit about galaxy movement: Scientists found a tendency of near superclusters to move into one and the same direction while far superclusters don´t. They called this phenomenon "The Great Attractor". Here´s some more Wikipedia-Info about it: "The Great Attractor is a gra...

Re: Planet We - A new approach towards the meaning of life

Dear dimebag, 1. to put it short: to me the meaning of life has a lot to do with how we manage to develop mentally (Part 1) and how we individually are connected to a greater whole (Part 2). I didn´t want to establish a new religion but create new inspirations along a way of thinking i happened not ...

Re: Planet We - A new approach towards the meaning of life

Dear Percarus, thank you for your interesting feedback. I never heard the term "eudaimonia" so i looked it up in Wikipedia and found it to be a very interesting concept that fits good into the Planet model. An interesting detail concerning The Final Answer to Everything, which is supposed ...

Re: Planet We - A new approach towards the meaning of life

Dear Hjarloprillar, thanks for this info about your understanding processes. For me it´s really hard to understand how one can gain understanding without using feelings. I.e. i thought there must be some kind of triumph or happiness feel layer when one achieved a fairly good amount of understanding....

Re: What's a universe?

Thinking about universes just brought up this thought that a universe has to have an outer rim. It has an outer shell that can be recognized by his outer materia rims which were the first and fastest particles that escaped the big bang situation. But if this is the given model: big bang - expansion ...

Re: My dear fear

@reasonvemotion: Thanks for the info ... i didn´t know that there´s already a label for this technique. @VoT Give it purpose, a purpose which makes sense and is allowed to express itself, and it might surrender from any unwillful acts. Thanks VoT for your insightful replies. I especially agr...

My dear fear Part 2: Living with Roger

When i came home friday 13th evening, my bad cat Roger prepared a little surprise party for me: Somehow he slipped out of his room and messed up my own timespace with an almost perfect chaos. ME (with quite some fear-based anger): Now what the DAMN happened here...?!? ROGER (smiling innocently): Oh,...

My dear fear

Dear friends, here´s a bit about how to deal with The Great Inhibitor, namely fear. It´s a simple psychological reprogramming mechanism but turned out to be somewhat effective in the past. Maybe you might get something from it. Enjoy :-) PART 1: The final encounter I have a daydream. In that daydrea...
