Re: What do we know about Ethics?

Before you make any ethical decision, Necromancer, in your interactions with other people, how does one measure...? Well, for a starter, being lawful under democratic laws and regulations is surely one way .... I totally agree -- with the proviso that those laws comply with the principles of Ethics...

Re: What do we know about Ethics?

Is the definition of a "circle" Extrinsic? No, it is Systemic Value. To understand the distinction between the various value dimensions see this article by a philosopher who is both clear and profound: https://www.hartmaninstitute.org/axiologyasascience/ Katz - Basic Ethics also explains in detail e...

Re: What do we know about Ethics?

Yes, that is true. To learn even more about Ethics go to the 4th post down from the top on Page 1 of this thread. If you like what you learned there, and would like to comprehend it more, and in greater depth of detail, and deeper meaning, see: THE BREAKTHROUGH which goes into the topic more fully. ...

Re: Announcing new document

This is horrifying. you are absolutley not to attribute that mess to me. 2. You didn't just steal...you stole from me, ie suggesting that economists actually hope to directly measure trust itself,... They aren't idiots, and likely don't want to be represented as such. ... you solicited fake reviews...

Re: Announcing new document

Your best route would have been to PM flashdangerpants, asking his permission to do this, and then asking him for his references. Yes, I agree. I didn't think of that at the time. That was dumb of me. Directly after he wrote those words I think I thanked him for his contribution to Ethics. If I did...

Re: Announcing new document

Hi, Flash I did not know to whom to give attribution, for I only have a nickname for you. To Sir-Sister-of-Suck: What some speak of as "plagiarism" I call "research." Yes, I do borrow from everywhere and admitted that in an earlier thread I wrote! If you read my previous threads you will find it alo...

Re: What do we know about Ethics?

Ethics, according the new paradigm - the Hartman/Katz Unified Theory of Ethics - is the field of inquiry defined as follows: when an individual (or a group of them) is Intrinsically-valued those who experience this and/or who analyze the results of such valuations are in the field of Ethics . To I-v...

Re: What do we know about Ethics?

As I see it, Ethics is the same as good human relations. And if you regard the people you encounter (ordinarily) as "a treasure", with a story to tell - from which one can learn something - you will perform a service just by listening to them. If you then ask, "Can I be of service in some way?" this...

Re: What do we know about Ethics?

In keeing with the topic of this thread, here are some more points to consider: To have enlightened self-interest is to know that what helps you, if it really helps you, helps me. We go up or down together. It also is wise to realize that we can create value or destroy it, when we encounter another ...

Re: What do we know about Ethics?

... you simply brand me the thought police... Why do you assume I was talking about you? If the shoe doesn't fit, one does not have to wear it. Your definition of Ethics is self serving and incomplete, also as expected. And are you implying that what you write is not 'self-serving'? Or is this a ca...

Even though I can honestly say that I don't know [anyting about anything,] some tentative conclusions with regard to Ethics are to be found here: - http://myqol.com/wadeharvey/PDFs/ETHICS%20AS%20SCIENCE.pdf http://myqol.com/wadeharvey/PDFs/HOW%20TO%20LIVE%20SUCCESSFULLY.pdf http://myqol.com/wadeharv...

Re: What do we know about Ethics?

Thus my latest breakthrough is that experiments may be divised employing the notion of time-units of attention. In this way, is it possible that Ethics can be ushered into science - in the modern {rather than the old European} sense of the word? ... Greetings, DP :!: It is still pseudoscience if yo...

Re: What do we know about Ethics?

Yes, I do understand. As you know from reading my threads and posts, my ethical theory encompasses a mix of the five or six tradiional schools of ethics. The theory I propose - http://myqol.com/wadeharvey/PDFs/HOW%20TO%20LIVE%20SUCCESSFULLY.pdf - is closer to contemporary Virtue Theory than to a rul...
