Re: Confirmation bias.

Here's one we could all learn from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1juPBoxBdc But probably won't. So, what did you learn from it? It seemed he had a couple of core points: one related to confirmation bias and one related to empathy and groups. Granted it's not radical stuff, but it is a reminder ...

Re: Confirmation bias.

Here's one we could all learn from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1juPBoxBdc But probably won't. As a matter of curiosity, what leads you to believe that it "probably won't"? There are a few here who are genuinely curious and/or receptive who have little to learn about confirmation bia...

Re: Christianity

Why am I halfwitted when I see 1 instead of 2? What is 1/2? Why does a lsit of 5 aggregate down to 2; but a list of 2 doesn't aggregate down to 1? For the reason I have already given you: Every one of which is an appeal either to "authority or revelation". Only two options: it's a dichoto...

Re: Christianity

..."authority or revelation" is not a dichotomy. I am using two different connotations for one and the same denotation. I am using the words synonymously. Despite their being functionally equivalent, they are quite clearly two different things. That you only see one is literally half witt...

Re: Christianity

You don't need to say anything. Those are my words you are talking about. Then why presume to say anything about my words? You are supposed to shut the fuck up and listen so you can grok your misunderstanding of what I said. Then let's have another look. Not for the first time, I said to Immanuel C...

Re: Christianity

While I'm here, I would just like to congratulate Dontaskme and Harbal for contributing something rather lovely to this mostly benighted thread. Best wishes to both of you.

Re: Christianity

We don't agree, halfwit. That is a great comfort. I am not explaining your position to you. I am explaining your misunderstanding of my position to you. No you are not. As I already said: ...I am not a halfwit. If you don't appreciate that each OR you mention is an appeal to authority or revelation...

Then we agree:

Re: Christianity

1. If it is only your fear of God that prevents you from doing terrible things, you confess to being a dangerous lunatic that needs to be controlled. 2. If you are not a dangerous lunatic, you admit that your sense of morality is independent of God. It's 2023 dude. This dichotomous thinking is so l...

Re: Christianity

Biden isn't mentioned... Small matter. His appointee. Unless you think she went rogue, and the labs were there without his knowledge, it makes no difference. You're trying too hard, Tillie. It's making you look manic. That is you projecting again. The evidence that Biden is responsible for Russia's...

Re: Christianity

When I challenged this: What was Biden doing in Ukraine? You posted this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydSf57SRtcQ It doesn't mention Biden. You really do have to be a conspiracy nut to think it makes your case. And when I asked you this: What common knowledge is there regarding Biden's provocati...
