Re: Solving Climate Change.

Although I agree with most points being made by yourself and Sculptor re this 'magma' thing. Vitruvius (welcome to PHN btw) has hit one particular point on the head. Two things that we need - especially 'down-under' is fresh water - & we all need clean energy. Thanks for the welcome. I'm not feelin...

Re: Solving Climate Change.

When the Sun don't shine - the energy could be stored in vast lithium battery arrays... In fact - there is a US energy firm actually using salt as a way to store HEAT, so the salt in fact could be useful aftera all - I haven't got the Co. name handy but the local govt are shoving wads of cash up th...

Until religious thinkers are able to explain in detail .... what exactly and precisely is being suggested in the following statement ...bolded here > Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and b...

Re: Does The Singularity Exist?

Oh, sorry if I offended. The remark:- 'maybe not you included' was in ref. to your statement of being a fossil prior to such a 'singularity'. Sorry I overreacted. It wasn't you, it was two other people who lobbed rocks at me at the same time. Also I know I made the fossil joke myself. And it's true...

Re: your penalty box

Just put that goof, duh-duh-duh-Dubious in the box. He's a shrill parrot, that one, and I won't read him anymore. I always thought Dubious was a woman for some reason. He knows a lot about music so that's a 'plus' in my book, or am I confusing him with another username? Anyway, I don't see the poin...

Re: Solving Climate Change.

Sculptor is right though, this additiona of sea water means your exhaust pipe is going to be blasted with a quite satanic mix of salt and steam that will wear it away. So you need to demonstrate some sort of regular maintenance to replace those pipes, the location seems daunting though. Are you sur...

Re: Favourite movie scenes

A scene from Cloud Atlas The guy on the right (a Scottish hard arse) - is Tom Hanks, in one of many varied roles he plays in this fantastic and extremely different film. This film has it all, humour and beautiful scenes, coupled with a perhaps dire dystopian future, where many characters are replaye...

I don't think so. If they were, it would not be their fault they believe the nonsense they do. But all the religious, including theists, choose to believe what there is neither evidence or non-contradictory reason for to evade the requirements of reality to learn the truth and live by it. The sad t...

Re: Being Anti-God

The thing about maths is that while it can be used to explore reality, once the empirically discovered variables are plugged in, it can also be done without anything so tawdry as a fact intervening. That makes it very attractive to theists. Math functions can certainly be understood without actual ...
