Re: What is the character of a woman?

Oh dear, anti-deduction is too strong for me -- like post-modernism it has the power not only to undermine logic, but also the person himself. How about just talking man to woman about what I wrote? I will definitely last longer that way.

Re: What is the character of a woman?

I’m sorry trokanmariel , but I have very little idea what you are trying to say. Women definitely use their eyes differently from men -- it’s right for men and wrong for women to stare in public. Is this what you are referring to as ‘woman seeing'? And women’s style (fashion) changes hundreds of tim...

Re: Veritas Aequitas's illusory God

henry quirk --- this is the poster I've managed to get several Muslims to agree to. If only I could distribute it to every mosque in the UK I think the problem would be well on the way to resolution.

Re: Veritas Aequitas's illusory God

I agree with Veritas that we need to do something about the violence of the Muslim faith -- especially the 36% of young Muslims in the UK who believe that apostates should be killed. I have set up a website for that purpose ( Muslim Civility ) and I’d very much appreciate any ideas as to how to stee...

Re: Veritas Aequitas's illusory God

TimeSeeker --- You have a point -- the Churches really are archaic, dying institutions in the West. But they do have some residual power: I’ve just been in communication with the Bishop of Gloucester, and she has a seat in the House of Lords, here in the UK. But as for the more general situation, I...

Re: Veritas Aequitas's illusory God

The Abrahamic Gods all attempt to enhance man’s power in society. The feminist theologians are right on this point: they all attempt to control women. This is why women are so determinedly taking over positions of power in the Church. Even in Saudi Arabia they are gaining power through divorce law a...

Re: Philosophy of science-the first two and a half millennia.

Science can go wrong by omission as well as by contradicting the evidence. Consider the ‘force field’ that surrounds every man as he goes about his daily business. It is very important to the conduct of social affairs and yet the social ‘sciences’ have all but ignored it. This has had disastrous con...

Re: What is the character of a woman?

Mr. -1- --- I have to confess that neither did I read Systematics original post very carefully. It did not sound very sincere and I did not understand where he was coming from much of the time. Nevertheless, regardless of his intent, I stand by what I say about men’s and women’s different character...

Re: What is the character of a woman?

Wow Skip, you could not be more accurate (except as it applies to you and me right now). I use a special term for the “womennikins” inside men’s brains: ‘virago’, and she is far more powerful than you imply. She is a veritable lesbian, dominatrix goddess, taking up almost as much space inside his b...

Re: What is the character of a woman?

Systematic --- Congratulations, your question assumes sex differences in character -- otherwise there would be no men’s and women’s characters, just human character. I assume, therefore, you are a man. It would be unwise to ask a woman: they are the ones who often deny sex differences (“I can do an...

Re: A philosophy for arguing with wives

Vegetariantaxidermy --- Are you sure this is not a ‘dating site’ of sorts? I for one enjoyed hearing about Kayla’s ass and being thought ‘cute’ by a couple of guys. If some lady found me and my ideas attractive I’d be over the moon. Back in 2008 it was several ladies and none of the men who endorse...

Re: The Value of Friendship for Education

Philosophy Now --- Robert Michael Ruehl talks of a single solution (friendship) for the three main types of relationships in school (teacher-teacher, student-student, and teacher-student). This is a nonsense. The first two are peer-to-peer, while the teacher-student relationship is hierarchical. Si...

Re: The Way of Love by Luce Irigaray

Philosophy Now --- If a man (subject) treats a woman (object) as if she is another man (subject), he is dead in the water. She will run rings around him. Luce Irigaray wants to have her cake and eat it at the same time. She wants to disarm men of their knowledge of the differences between men and w...

Re: What’s The Most Important Question, and Why?

Philosophy Now --- Whose fault is it? Man or woman? We’ve been preoccupied with blaming each other since time immemorial, and so it is our most important question.
