Hegel seems to think things progress...

Hegel seems to think things progress where i see them as just changing, in some areas into a mode seen before in history and other times forward to new paradigms.

For example, he thinks freedom spreads and widens but i doubt it does in comminist china.

What do you reckon ?

Is ok for philosophers to drop out of academia and go on long walks but if they also write books it can be dangerous.
