Re: Black History Month

ideally, I would like to see a less narrow version of history become more widely accepted. ideally, there should be no need for "black history month"

But I am not sure how to actually get there. "black history montyh" might be a necessary stop-gap measure.

Re: extra costs of being poor

More generally, things that are fairly minor to people who are at least somewhat well-off can be disastarous to the poor. I would guess that the knowledge of this fact, by itself, could be an extra source of stress.

Re: The Ramifications of Living With a Crazy Person

Worse yet, almost as if by osmosis, their craziness will start to leech into your thoughts and actions, over time. Eventually, if you do not leave, you will be crazy too, just by having to respond to it all the time. Sanity can spread by osmosis as well. I was "troubled" as a teen - from ...

Re: Oppositional Defiance Disorder

A fiercely independent child might ignore their parents telling them that laying Dungeons & Dragons is evil. But if their parents ask them not to leave their D&D books on the kitchen counter (cause its needed for cooking) they will move the books elsewhere. but a child will oppositional defi...

I want to see this just to find out what all the argle barge is about.

however, a lot of French films tend to start out very slowly and have like a 30 minute boring intro sequence that is super boring.

Does "Cuties" follow that pattern?

Re: Is Liberty possible without the Ideal of the Nuclear Family?

It recognizes the essential difference between men and women. not following your reasoning here, I am afraid. I am married, with kids - but since I am married to a woman essential differences between men and women are not really an issue for my nuclear family. Without the nuclear family, a strong c...

the prosecutors claim that the woman was attacked in self defense - they claim that the pregnant woman initiated deadly force

this may or may not be true

however - no one is saying that if a woman is attacked and that results in a miscarriage she is criminally liable

Re: A ROLE MODEL FOR WOMEN

Who is cutting off the feminine more: men or the feminists? Not really sure what difference that makes. Who has been around longer? My issue is with MEN telling WOMEN that they are inferior. That has been going on for a very long time. I see feminism as an outcome of that distortion and aggression....

Re: Why are so many Americans pro-slavery & anti-abortion?

Which arguments do you put forth in defense for re-instating slavery (or wanted to keep it in the first place)? i dont know if anyone outside of the craziest alt-right fringe is in favor of slavery outright - but we do get more and more voices suggesting that slavery was not so bad - and that desce...

(1) But one concern against it is that if people get what the 'need', they have no incentive as a force to motivate people to bother looking for work at all. there are so many assumptions here i dont even know where to start is it solely fear of want that makes people look for work? in some cases p...

Murder is a legal definition; taking a human life is only murder when the law categorises it as such; this cant be the full extent of the word's meaning lets say i am writing a novel about Neanderthals "Gook murdered Droog with the mammoth thigh bone" Obviously there are no laws, does tha...
