Re: Jordan Peterson for President - too bad he's Canadian

i just watched JP talk about 1950s dads, that was so cringy especially with that Kermit the Frog voice of his, it came across like a weird old guy going on about 'young people today' - he seemed like a Platonic archtype of the convserative but harmless and slightly embarassing drunk uncle men compla...

Re: Reincarnation

What would be the reason or “ultimate goal” of going through a cycle of lives? _______ have no idea just because i find some idea plausible or even believable does not imply i have any insight on how it might be true, spe...

Yes, you are right, with Moldova. But Romania was never invaded by Russia or by the USSR.
wasn't Moldova a province of Romania - so invading Moldova without invading Romania would be an impossibility ?

Sweden, Norway (when Finland was part of Russia), China, Canada (when Alaska was a Russian territory until 1867 when the USA bought it from Russia), Roumania. Turkey. Iraq. Iran.
didn't USSR invade Romania and annex Moldova, back in the day?

Re: Is hate good? Should we allow the censorship of hate speech?

I'm all in favor of free speech - to a degree. Even to a large degree, but there must be limits, for the reasons above. fair enough, but lets say I am told someone is spewing hate speech, but I am not allowed to hear it myself, because the government or a bunch of antifa guys or whatever have alrea...

Re: Sexily-dressed women

That's right. The USSR and Russia are some of the most peace-abiding superpowers. They squash counter-revolutions, yes, they do invade the Ukraine, but they don't go to destroy far-away countries and raze them to the ground. most of what i know about Russia comes from my alcoholic Russian high scho...

Re: Is objective morality/justice imaginary?

I find wine - even the supposedly good stuff - to taste excessively bitter. Don't like the stuff. (Canadian ice wine is not unpleasant but to me it basically tastes like expensive sugar water) this is a subjective matter of taste, and it is clear what is meant by saying that it is subjective. wine i...

Re: Can slavery ever be justified?

And also paying taxes is slavery, since it's your money, and you can be imprisoned for not paying! i am a part-owner of a business, and as much as i hate paying taxes this is absurd for starers, the line of business i am in is heavily subsidized - i am a farmer. I think farm subsidies are a good th...

Re: Reincarnation

as far as buddhists and hindus are concerned, i dont think they limit the universe to earth alone, or to known history - so the fact that there were a lot fewer humans 200 years ago should not matter much from their perspective but i have met couples who are convinced they were an item in past lives...

hi i am back

I am not new, but i have not been on for a while. I joined the forum in 2011, i was 15 and tended to express myself with emotional meltdowns that apparently have been described as 'legendary' To many of my peers, i am still 'that psycho melt-down queen' at one point i got into trouble after smashing...
