Re: What's wrong with libertarianism

Yea, there's all kinds of libertarians. Some are anarchists, others are minarchists. Some make an exception for infrastructure. Some believe in fractional reserve banking, some don't. Some believe in intellectual property, some don't. Some believe in limits on the amount of property one can accumul...

Re: A World Without Men?

How about a world without pacifists ? Instead of eliminatin' violent men, let's just eliminate those who object to violent men, and violence in general. There are far fewer pacifists than violent men: logically , gettin' rid of pacifists would be far easier. Well that would reduce the world's popul...

Re: Understanding the religious mindset

What kind of mindset believes in and perpetuates ancient imaginings and stories, as if they could possibly be more relevant than what is evident and present today? Why would the world of the past, and its words and understandings assembled and re-translated/assembled in various books, be the most s...

Re: Understanding the religious mindset

Why did you project all of this stupid crap? Again, more of your stupid projection. And it's dishonest, Henry. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Not projection; just honest observation (with a touch of bile). I don't expect you to agree with it. 2,000 years isn't enough time to eva...

Re: Understanding the religious mindset

Good parents can do a better job with their children who have free wills. God isn't daddy ; God is Creator . Just cuz you want someone to fix your problems doesn't mean others want the same, or that God ought to. You're a free will, with a conscience, capable of self-direction and -development. God...

Re: A World Without Men?

We don't kill men. We just stop making more of them. How? Here's an idea (it's a longshot)... Cook up a virus (or take advantage of some natural pathogen), scare the hell out of the world, release a series of vaccines to supposedly immunize the global population, vaccines which instead sterilize me...

For example, this commonly-accepted contradiction: > A loving and all-powerful god created everything... > yet the world is full of "wrong", as well as evil, darkness, and people that are not of god. Re: Understanding the religious mindset

That illogical cornerstone of belief enables people to create all kinds of fabrications for: > What they believe or judge god supposedly is and isn't associated with. > How they think the world "should be" instead. How is the atheist who pines for an unrealistic utopia, who actually believes such a...

Re: sumthin' nosh on...

Just this: what do you take to be any evidence of the extramental existence of natural kinds or of universals? What sort of things would they be ontologically? How would they instantiate in particulars in terms of the mechanisms involved? Can you translate the above into non-philosopher ? https://e...

Re: Understanding the religious mindset

How is it that many theists perceive their all-powerful god's creation/manifestation as evil and dark and wrong, yet they fail to question the lack of logic in that limited human conclusion... and in the stories that spin off from that?

Can you offer a specific example?

Re: sumthin' nosh on...

That seems to be endorsing type/universal realism and natural kind realism. Yes. I don't buy either. I do. And in 58 years not one jot of evidence has been offered to convince me otherwise. Care to offer some? I'm a nominalist. Meaning? I don't buy that there are any real abstracts. ("Real" here, a...

Interviewing the dead Albert Einstein about free will by Jon Rappoport June 22, 2021 It was a strange journey into the astral realm to find Albert Einstein. I slipped through gated communities heavily guarded by troops protecting dead Presidents. I skirted alleys where wannabe demons claiming they w...
