"Re Quirk : thermals and thunder, our atmosphere."

The whole friggin' universe is an exercise in moving heat around (part of Crom's A/C).

"It ain't rocket science. Your id wants to eat and fuck. Your ego works out how to do it. And the superego worries about whether you should. Freud wasn't saying anything we didn't already know, hence the classical allusions." You're right, it ain't: 'I' want to eat and fuck; 'I' work out how; 'I' wo...

difference between “needs” and “wants”. I need food; I want pizza. Do you NEED to have ablution and sanitation systems or do you WANT to have them? Livin' alone in the wild: I may want them but I don't need them; livin' in New York: I may not want them but -- most defintely -- I need them. Why can’...

Why humans can't get rid of their egos ?

When I think 'ego' I think 'myself' (the flesh and blood and bone and muscle and brain 'me'). With that as my definition: why the hell would I get rid of myself? Amazing how a drug addict screwed the pooch for years with his little fictional divisions of psyche or mind (ego, superego, id). Utter man...

"Can you define meaning?"

Meaning is the significance I invest in 'this' one (rather than 'that' one); wholly subjective; completely in the eye of the beholder; never intrinsic, always bestowed.

Along with ass-kickin' & bubblegum chewin'...

...we're here to move heat around and transmit information (via jizz & eggs).

Every- and any-thing else is idiosyncratic (subjective).

"If every argument is logical, then the author is correct?"

Not as I reckon it, no.

There is an emphasis on 'compulsion' in the work, sumthin' I don't see in the real world.

Also: PG's dad plays fast and loose with defintions, tailoring 'em to suit his argument.

So, yeah, the work may internally coherent, but it ain't 'right'.

Okay, here’s the question: Taylor A. Dunn asks, if free will were a drug, should you take it? Hex sez: No, that leads to mass murder, vile and psychotic behaviour! Hex sez: If people truly had free will society would descend into anarchy! The appropriate question at this point: why would free will l...

that greater satisfaction

So, I decided to put the notion to the test. I believe beatin' the High Holy Hell outta my 12 year would be most satisfying. Since I just wanna beat the High Holy Hell outta him (not mangle, malform, cripple, retard, or kill him), I did a google search for 'child beating techniques'. The results wer...

My point: If a body wants to read Rand, then go read Rand, but -- please -- spare us the biographical essays and dissections.

And: if a body wants to get to the root, go read Saint Max's The Individual and His Property and skip Mother Ayn and Mad Fred.

"I can't make headway with people who believe that they have free will. They refuse to listen because it upsets their worldview too much and they can't handle it." Speakin' only for me: I read and see only wordplay. I'm not upset: just unmoved. # "I tried to explain that the accurate definition of d...

God Himself in Heaven Above can't convince me what's wrong is right.

why this thread is goin' nowhere (and never will)

PG (her dad actually) skewed the debate in her/his favor from the start with 'the individual is always compelled always to move toward greater satisfaction as the individual understands at it'. With that very clever construct she/he can claim any act (no matter how off-kilter or bug fuck crazy [or n...
