Re: Epistemology defeats itself with its own premisese
russel did some logical thinking and found out that there is logically no class, without being a member of itself. paradox means illogical. Yes, so one solution to this problem was to create additional axioms which excluded any class as being a member of itself. logically all classes have to be mem...

Re: Epistemology defeats itself with its own premisese
Arising_uk, -No, I was really considering some truths. I do not know all the historic work of Goedel, but it seems to be extensible to any formalism. The reason is: it would lead to a circular reasoning. It has at most consistance, but it cannot "proof" itself under the proof consideratio...

Re: Epistemology defeats itself with its own premisese
... See Godel theorem about this problematic. Never really understood this theorem but doesn't it just show that Maths and Logic are not the same thing? As as far as I understood it Russell logicized Number and Godel mathematised his logic and then used mathematical operations to produced what he s...

Re: Any Wittgenstein Followers here?
This is a good indication of why cozy chatters (socalled philosophers) are utterly useless, as they exorbiant amount of time on very basic things. They would be fired from any serious buisness, when they can't make a simple correspondence with another person, but begins to ask having basic words ex...

Ginkgo Difference is, science needs to test thus leading to proof and evidense, philosophy only thinks and spekulates. In philosophy logical argumentation is The Test. Logical (only empirical) argumentation is also The test in empirical science. You need philosophy when you try to argument why mone...

Re: Any Wittgenstein Followers here?
Language is a language. Logic is a method in more or less logical language. Hi Mark, I don't even think that logic is a method, because its premisses can lead to any construction. Moreover, using "more or less logical language", you obviously refer to different kinds of logics. Some consi...

Re: A Measure of Truth
You havn't answerd either of the questions, so it's illogical. do you have logical answers to those questions? The M16 in it's early years got rusty, thus jammed and was more trouble than it was worth. But it was soon upgraded with better alloys thus it worked quite well, but still jammed much more...

Mark Question You have no idea what you are talking about. Then tell me how the M16 was described before the Nam war, and in the early stages and late. Or just tell me how a buddy of mine who's father in law had his sperm channel removed so he was sterelized, but his wife still got pregnant! How? i...
