Re: A Modern Version of the Contingency Argument of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
BTW you ARE making claims. Saying the world is not logical is a CLAIM because it's a positive statement that asserts an opinion. Therefore you ARE subject to providing evidence for your claims. If you can't understand something THAT simple I would really have to question your competence

Re: A Modern Version of the Contingency Argument of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
No it's not. And I think you know it because if that were the case you would be able to explain why it's rubbish by demonstrating specific mistakes. But all you've done is just make unfounded claims. I'm sorry but if this is typical for you I'm not impressed. Now do you have a REAL critique or not? ...

Re: A Modern Version of the Contingency Argument of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
Here is a shorter version that maybe you can understand: We exist. Because we exist we know that the common notion of "nothingness" as a completely empty void without any property of any kind is WRONG. There are only TWO ways to derive definitions. Induction and deduction. Because we canno...

Re: A Modern Version of the Contingency Argumnet of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
Btw way I don't think you actually understand the argument because the definition of nothingness and how it was derived is central to it and your comment doesn't appear to have ANYTHING to do with the definition derived from it

Re: A Modern Version of the Contingency Argumnet of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
There are no unwarranted assumptions here. In fact they have been scrupulously AVOIDED. While it cannot be proved everything is explainable it IS a reasonable inference because of the amazing success science has had describing, explaining and PREDICTING the things we see in the world. Claiming other...

A Modern Version of the Contingency Argument of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
Why Is There Something Rather Than Nothing? Modern Deism EXPLAINED by Alumno deVerum The most profound question we can ask is, "why is there something rather than nothing?" Traditionally people have attempted to answer it by postulating a God that was beyond human understanding that create...

Re: Scientific Deism Explained
This link is necessary because the essay has illustrations that cannot be posted directly. It is your choice to read it or not but to judge it without reading it is the true disappointment

Scientific Deism Explained
http://www.aps.org/about/physics-images/images/randomsphere_full.jpg Here is a link to a short essay explaining Scientific Deism. Basically what it says is that absolute nothingness is self contradictory because by the rules of logic "nothingness" can only be defined by deduction as a sta...

Re: How do i start my career in philosophy writing?
Actually it is just that easy. I speak from experience. I have been paid for things that I have written. If your foremost thought is a check, however, it will affect the quality of your writing. It's best to put first things first. Focus on your book and do your best. You have to have something to s...

It is written by 13 modern Deists and covers the history of Deism, Deist ethics, and the various forms of Deism in the 21st century from Pagan Deism to Christian Deism to the most scientifically rigid (to the point of almost being Atheistic) types of Deism out there. It...
