Re: Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951)
I don't get it about Ludwig Wittgenstein. What is the big deal? One thing he says is "the world is not made up of things, it is made up of facts" But things and facts are much the same. Wars were things and they certainly proved to be facts. Sometimes I wonder about philosophers. One philo...

Re: The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights

There have been natural rights added and invented so humanity can advance and move forward. Without natural rights and human rights we wouldn't have developed order a...

Re: How I Solved Hume’s Problem and Why Nobody Will Believe Me
Londoner, You are right. I don't think Hume was right in believing that 'future will always be like the past' . Kant had a similar belief, that people wouldn't move forward with mental ideas that improve politics. In many respects Kant consider humans 'stupid'. I sure he would have believed 'human r...

Re: The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights
I think Human Rights is the biggest movement and advancement in people throughout the world. It is slow but generally it will advance itself like those in the Muslim world, who eventually will grow bigger, like people in Jordan. And believe it or not, human rights in Russia and China are slowly movi...

Re: What Are Human Rights?
Human Rights has problems. It always hasn't acted accordingly. Humans have not really thought about it. Nevertheless, a lot of people started becoming aware of it, mainly because people became smarter and more sophisticated over the years. We slowly became better thinkers. God, it is not so easy to ...

One thing that bothers me is that Richard Rorty seemed unconscious of the worlds need for change and improvements, brought on by his shallow human 'sentiments'.

Re: Richard Rorty On Rights
I think Richard Rorty had the mistake in believing that human rights "is grounded on the notion of sentimentality". In other words, Rorty didn't believe in the real importance of human rights and how it really changed the world. And because of his thinking be believed in 'male supremacy', ...
