Re: How Does an Atheist Come to Believe in God?

commonsense said: " if you assume that there is a space surrounding the universe ." there is space between all matter in the Universe. between all is space. space relies on matter relies on space, ad infinitum. this is the what is whether your commonsense approves or not. It matters little.

Re: How Does an Atheist Come to Believe in God?

… there are some that HAVE experienced the Absolute. However, their deep conviction is not evidence of the existence of God. [/color] The evidence in a god is a futile journey. When we come to realize that what mankind calls "god" or it's 10,000 other names, is a search for a material bei...

Re: Silence

When I was a Quaker Attender, I particularly liked the Silence, and thought it was far too often broken by those for whom the Spirit had been reading Guardian editorials plus Nature Notes. Probably it is the result of spending too much time with talking persons, but Silence seemed to make more sens...

I believe you will from now on, attofishpi, unless of course, you won't allow yourself the experience.

There's a huge contingency of those who love to be known as "NO" until the time comes to know "YES".

Re: How Does an Atheist Come to Believe in God?

God is love, problem of evil. God is perfect, we are imperfect. These two examples show the duality of our way of thinking. God is omnipresent, we don't experience God. Would you agree that the space surrounding the Universe and the Universe itself are One... each without the other is not possible....

Silence

Silence - the great Void that contains all of all, and we so small, so little we know of what we have been given thru this miracle called Life... we fight and gnaw, we scream and crawl after dreams that supersede our wake thru the oceanic turmoil, so well oiled, that we pass the chance to dance emb...

How Does an Atheist Come to Believe in God?

How Does an Atheist Come to Believe in God? Any conversation about god(s) seems to bring out the atheists, the agnostics, the believers, the skeptics, the seekers, religious minds and philosophers alike. Each of these if asked what the word "god" signifies for them, we'd find just as many...

Re: My Philosophy

Thanks to all the responders and your comments. I find it interesting the vast differences in beliefs are found amongst this diverse group. There is no certain definition that philosophy can provide and despite that opinion, it is a great exercise for the mind and has been ever since our species rea...

My Philosophy

Philosophies are religions without an Absolute. Philosophy is malleable and always unsure. Philosophy is an attempt at diversity thru intellect. Philosophy is the unguarded twin of Religion, without a Temple, without the faithful... a vagabond on the landscape seeking that which lies beyond religiou...

Depth and originality don't share the same meaning.
And what is "your" true self?
Find your own true self and you'll find the answer to your question. I can't do it for you.
