Language

As a programmer I am quite a bit frustrated having to learn new languages all the time that all do basically the same thing. Now I am aware that new features do occur and sometimes it is better to rewrite the language for efficiency improvements and yet it all seems like same old same old - loops, l...

Re: Truths by Degrees, Grouped Conditionals

I suppose the main quality of a house is that people live in it. I would suggest that the answer lies in somehow proving that saying 'four walls and a roof' is sufficient to know X is a house.

Re: Truths by Degrees, Grouped Conditionals

How close to being certain of the truth do you think your method takes you?

Re: Creationism: God is a human projection.

I have a theory that God is nothing but a human projection, and it isn't science or intellectual advancement that will completely disprove the Bible or other religions, but simple human psychology mixed with philosophy. Humans are a race that believes itself to be not only important as a whole, but...

Re: Do God parents have rights?

We can only tackle things from the philosophical angle - maybe tbeiter knows something from the legal angle.

I think God Parents should be taken into account as a potential home for an orphan. But I think culturally the role is becoming more symbolic.

Re: Would you rather die than work?

I was a pretty lazy middle class brat and naturally fell on hard times once I left the safety of home. I found the hard work I did to get out of that situation freeing. I personally haven't found a job I didn't enjoy and whilst I have received welfare I do think that a person is better off working f...

Re: Personhood to Apes BEFORE Corporations!

.Thank you Chaz for posting upon this thread. You, as usual, have added information AND valuable insight. You are correct in identifying the lowland gorilla instead of a chimp. And I like your straight-talk of the urban myth thingy. ... But will you actually take any notice and change your thoughts...

I don't think God condemned us to anything until we did something wrong.
