I recently discovered that Zapffe’s major philosophical text, Om Det Tragiske from 1941, has finally been translated into English by American philosopher Ryan L Showler and is due for publication early March 2024 by Peter Lang with the title ‘On the Tragic’

Good news for a Zapffe fans! The first English translation of Zapffe’s magnum opus Om Det Tragiske (1941) has been completed by philosopher Ryan L Showler and is due for publication by Peter Lang early March 2024 (personal confirmation received from publisher and translator).
