Re: Religion is Man- Made

Re 'sentient ' creatures comment, I'll still let the blokes at the abattoir do that job, I'd prefer to do my job, and enjoy what delicious meats they can provide. Just to clean, clear up this mess. Animals do not cook their food, their brains didn't evolve to the sophistication that the human brain...

Re: Masks Seem to Help

...there have not been a large number of cases and millions of deaths from the flu, while COVID has caused enormous damage to humanity. It is not correct to compare two viruses with different contagiousness and speed of spread. COVID appears more statistically virulent, it's true. But it's hard to ...

Re: Masks Seem to Help

I will say that wearing a mask does seem to help. My family and I have been wearing them pretty consistently and this past season is one of the few cold and flu seasons that none of us came down with any kind of virus or infection. Knock on wood, hope it stays that way. Well, coating us all in lexa...

It's funny! And most importantly, it very well emphasizes the national peculiarity: thrift, excessive frugality.

Re: The Right Six

Grammar is not necessary to know. Grammar isn’t necessary to know well. (If it’s snot, it may offend.) In my opinion, in the modern world it is generally a shame to be educated. If you know something better than those around you, you should be ashamed. These are the current trends. And then we wond...

Re: The Right Six

In honor of the arbitrary six-foot rule: “The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter—it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.” - Mark Twain So too is the difference between the almost right six words, and the right six words. Wha...

Re: Trump met with the Virgin Island PRsident last year - lol

He's a showman. The joke's on Americans from both sides of the spectrum. Showman or clown and shame of the nation? These are different concepts. As for me, Trump is crossing all sorts of boundaries that could somehow be explained by logic or ethics. I understand that he is rich and the presidency f...

Re: Living my best life.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Everyone can make their life happier. To do this, it is enough to learn how to enjoy everyday little things. For me, now a pleasant little thing is just to take a bubble bath. I love the scent of lavender and don't cheat on my favorite Deep Steep bubble bath.

You need to understand that any freedom has limitations, we are daily bound hand and foot by laws and moral and ethical norms.

Re: Toxic Femininity

All together. Despite the weakness and emotionality, any capable person (of any gender) is obliged to be responsible for his/her decisions and actions. In other words, if a person is not able to take responsibility for his/her actions and be aware of his/her words, he/she should be recognized as in...

Re: Toxic Femininity

Do you think "emotionality and hysteria" would be part of this "toxic femininity" package? Would it be fair to say that women who are "emotional and hysterical" are just as deplorable as men who exhibit these traits are (not only to women but to other men as well)? Thi...

Re: Toxic Femininity

In men, I don't like excessive emotionality and hysteria at the time when you need to get together and make a decision. There was an experience of relationships with an absolutely weak-willed man and in these relationships, I felt like a man, because I had to decide everything myself. Yeah, I get t...

Re: Who do we think we are?

I was talking to an elderly black woman recently about this. She apparently got her grandson's underpants in a bunch when she said that white people trying to pass as black does not pick her wallet, break her leg, or prevent her from voting, so she is not going to lose any sleep over it. Young peop...

Re: Toxic Femininity

Okay, let's try this. My female friends have often said to me, "You're so lucky to be a man. You have no idea how brutal girls are to each other." In fact, I've never met a woman who doesn't have "horror stories" about how she's been treated, at one time or another, by other wom...

Re: Basic Human Rights

As I say: one can reason out tyranny is permissible, slavery is permissible ; the absolute subjugation of human beings can be exceedingly rational if, as your start, man is just a smart ape. Absolutely. And not merely "permissible," but even "most rational," if we mean, "th...
