Re: Here’s a question for anyone who believes in the existence of HELL:
In the beginning of my reply I confess, that i did not read every single post carefully. I am trying respond to the first, opening post, understanding the first clarification with the wikipidia quote about hell. It is so, because in the last posts i saw phrases like 'brain functions' and so on, and ...

Re: Do any of you clowns have a fucking job?
Who here has a real paying job and doesn't routinely rely on any kind of government financial assistance/payouts? After all, how broad can your perspectives be if you're not interacting regularly in the larger world, rather than just talking about it in some self-serving twisted way? I am a student...

Re: What is a Fact?
In this sense, if there are no humans at all, there will be no moral facts related to humans. Here we have to come back to the evolutionary approach. If human faculty of morality is really an effect of natural selection, there has to be a presence of simpler moral behaviors in our biological ancest...

Re: What is a Fact?
Thus my point; There are moral facts as justified from a specific Framework and System of Morality and Ethics. Since such moral facts are relative to a framework, they are not absolute moral facts [e.g. of Plato's ideas or God given command] but they are relative moral facts. If i understand well, ...

Re: The Existential Crisis
Well, just entering in between into your discussion, which has changed into quarreling. The 'Fear of death' theory about the origin of religions is pretty old and worked upon. It seems accurate if we take many religious (Christianity here) premises, ie. life after death, loving and caring God, equal...

Re: Morality: The Fact/Opinion Distinction
Could someone give a couple of examples of moral or ethical facts? I would like to know what they are before I try to argue for or against them. I will try, but i need to start by writing shortly (very generally!) what i mean when i say 'fact', 'ethical' and 'moral', otherwise we might finish like ...
