Existence presupposes spatiotemporality; time is a precondition of existence. Therefore, in a sense, time itself cannot exist. At least, I reckon the problem lies in the juxtaposition of the concepts of time and existence, or of applying the concept of existence to time itself. Shit happens, obvious...

It seems that the OP has already answered the question: language is "existentially contingent upon" language users, and all the reasons/purposes for which we use language. Should there be more to it than that?
