Re: Relativity?

Eternalism seems deterministic to me... To me this is somewhat contestable as determinism seems to be an ambiguous concept in a block universe in which everything is simply given. I will agree that it is contestable, but not because of free will considerations since the model takes no stance on it....

Re: Relativity?

Inertial frames are nothing more than a designation of a direction. Is 'direction' the correct term to be using in relation to 'inertial frames' and 'time'? If yes, then how does different direction influence or change the outcome, and what do directions, themselves, have that changes the results o...

Re: Relativity?

Have you NOT made any presumption at all about what 'time' actually IS? Fine. Time is the temporal separation between events. Is that what 'time' actually IS, or is that just what you presume 'time' to actually be? Also, how do you define 'temporal' here? You are aware that there is no actual physi...

Re: Relativity?

A theory is more or less a made up version of what thing SHOULD be like In science a theory is the highest form of classification there is. If I recall correctly you have already told Me this, at least once. A body of knowledge incorporating facts and laws that has been subject to the most rigorous...

Re: Relativity?

Watch Ken ignore this. He’s so predictable. And retrodictable! A theory is a model of the world that is consistent with empirically observed facts about it, and which makes predictions and retrodictions that are falsifiable. WHY make predictions and retrodictions that ARE falsifiable? WHY not just ...

Re: Relativity?

A 'theory' is more or less a made up version of what thing SHOULD be like. It's stuff like this that make me think you must be troll -- or hopelessly uneducable. Maybe both. How many times, in this thread, has the definition of "theory" been explained to you? Yet there you go again, makin...

Re: Relativity?

Even after thousands upon thousands of years I find it hilarious that some human beings still TRY TO argue for some things, like God creates things or that time dilates YET still have NO clue as to what 'IT' is that they are actually talking about. What is even more funny and humorous is to sit bac...

Re: Relativity?

So even if somebody managed to pull off the twins scenario, would you not accept the second-hand results because you are not personally both of the twins? No, of course NOT. I obviously would have had first hand experience. You seem to still be missing the mark by a tremendous amount. I seem to be ...

Re: Relativity?

The difference between you and I is I do NOT, as you would put it, 'make up my own "mind" about the metaphysics', like you do. You have completely missed the point, ken. Have another go. These are the key elements of a theory in physics: 1. The empirical data. 2. The mathematical analysis...

Ken wrote: The difference between you and I is I do NOT, as you would put it, 'make up my own "mind" about the metaphysics', like you do. I just observe what IS, instead. Whereas, you and others tell your selves "Why that should be so", and have already jumped to a conclusion an...

Re: Relativity?

I did NOT say that, and I would probably never say any thing like that. ... No I do NOT accept that, for reasons that you could NOT even begin to fathom, yet. ... They are NOT conflicting. They may, however, APPEAR conflicting, to you. ... I would NOT use the wording you use here, and would probabl...

Re: Relativity?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what you're saying here seems to be perfectly aligned with Petkov's argument: That if 3D is true relativity is false and if relativity is true 3D is false. Have I misunderstood? Relativity has been well established. The guy going to AC and back will age 140 days, assumi...

Re: Relativity?

Our choices very much affect the future. If not, evolution of the tools to make a better choice would have been pointless. But few define free will as the ability to make a choice. Does only a 'few' defining, 'some thing', in a certain way lesson that definition? I have found that some of the few k...

Re: Relativity?

It is amusing that science deniers will use the products that science has provided to preach their message that science is wrong. Are you alluding to any one in particular who is supposedly a science denier? And if so, who is that, and where and when have they ever said that "science is wrong&...

Re: Relativity?

You already have your suspicions of what the actual facts and truths are, so you will naturally ONLY LOOK FOR that which will support your already held view of things. Just more of your preposterous trolling, unless you have some kind of learning disability. It has been explained to you again and a...
