Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
So are we all in agreement that NOTHINGNESS has to be in order for SOMETHING to be ? The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever ...is like saying The Absolute Impossibility of Somethingness - ever Do you see the flaw in this kind of thinking? .... word play, play on words....nothing is impossi...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
So, I'm going to ask you, Dontaskme, :-) ... seeing/thinking as you do, how does life feel to you... and what are your visions (if any) for experiencing more? Thanks for sharing same understanding of the nature of reality. My vision is imagination only...I can see myself existing in infinite parall...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
Dontaskme, we are almost in agreement, the difference only being one. You say that everything in reality amounts to zero and I say it is all one. I'll answer in more detail when I have more time. Yes, I understand the position you are taking. But, one cannot know one without anything to relate it t...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
Yes, and that point is the perceiver, when an object is seen which is never separate from the perceiver, the thought of the object arises giving the illusion of an object over there separate from over here where the perceiver is standing. ... What is happening when someone throws a rock at my head ...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
What do you mean by "a simulation"? Are you referring to the holographic principle or a giant alien game played on a supracosmic hard drive? :) Yes, reality is holographic by nature. Everything in physical reality exist in two states, like two sides of the same coin but cannot know or see...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
nk along these lines too... and I enjoyed the way you described it. Here are some questions: Why would everything be designed to wake up humanity to the truth, if such a truth would dissolve the dream... and isn't the dream the whole platform of experience... and isn't experience the point? Is ther...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
The thing about the void is we visit it every night when we go to sleep. In deep dreamless sleep there is no world. Upon awakening in the morning the world reappears...we only remember the void of no world in deep sleep in relation to waking up to world. The truth is there is no real world ''out th...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
Apparently a number of people who undergo near death experiences report a visit to "the void", a place of nothingness where they can more clearly examine whatever it is about themselves that they think they are supposed to understand. Or something like that; I add this para for interest o...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
The big-bang is not what you think it is....what is meant by the original big-bang is the birth of opposites within seamless infinity. ... Is it? I thought it just a hypothesis from Cosmology based upon the discoveries of the CMB and that all the galaxies are apparently receding from us no matter w...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
If it's all 'ideas' then you have to have something thinking the ideas that you are not thinking, I guess you have a 'God' in there somewhere but then that 'God' must be an idea, so whose idea? Infinite regress. There is thought, that is known, but from where does a thought arise? have you seen a t...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
No, the external world is the external world, how we perceive it is a product of the kind of body with senses that we have but this does not mean that it is dependent upon our existence as it is patently not. There is no external world independent of the perceiver. If there was a world out there in...

Your the one asking the question, not me.
Ask the one who want's to know?
The question is born out of the answer you already have else the question wouldn't even arise.

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
All I've said is that nothing cannot exist as if it did it'd not be nothing. But don't you see, by saying nothing cannot exist, you are creating the exact opposite, so it can exist as the opposite of something. In reality there is no contradiction or opposites. If nothing cannot exist, then neither...

Re: The Absolute Impossibility of Nothingness - ever
It comes from the fact that if there were no states of affairs or things you'd have nothing to conceptualize about. Kant called it the Noumena and I call it the external world. Noumena can't be called, since it is not known, ...only phenomena is known. So can't call what is not known ...something k...
