Re: Propaganda Antidote
propaganda == communication is a useless tautology that negates the use of the distinct word propaganda. It also does not correspond with actual usage of the word:

Re: The Problem of Evil
The problem for Atheism is not one of understanding evil but of justifying their valuation of something as evil, given that they believe they live in an inherently value-neutral universe, in which time and chance are the ultimate explanations. To justify something as evil merely requires defining e...

Are you new to any online forums? Nuh, I've been forumning since the naughties. I generally try to keep the same name and persona online, too. Its not much different to real me, I think. I'm not a fan of the literal D&D games but indirectly through the video games that the D&D games have be...

Re: An argument against materialism
You have no way to Explain how something like the Color Red, the Standard A Tone, or the Taste of Salt can happen as a result of Neurons Firing. These Conscious Experiences refuse to be stuffed back into the Neurons. It is highly Scientific to give them a place to Exist in, namely some sort of Cons...

Re: An argument against materialism
There is a way to test Conscious Space if we speculate further about things. If Quantum Mechanics is the conduit between Physical Space and Conscious Space then we can perform Experiments using certain QM principles as in: http://www.theintermind.com/MachConExperiment/MachConExperiment.asp That is ...

Re: The Problem of Evil
... I think what I read from you is the following: Defined gods of many sorts cannot exist: e.g. Omni everything fails when the problem of evil is put forward. Evil can include bad stuff that happens to people (the example in the article includes a tooth ache). Believing in gods can lead to acts of...

Its the graphic user interface that made it an "everyone can use it" thing. (sorry to my hard core, "command line is real computer use" friends)

Interesting to find these forums.
I'm ancient.
Started playing D&D in 1974.
I like making computers do what they do and get all software theory on it.
I design and play lots of games.
I think philosophy is important.

Re: Who will swallow the Corona virus debt? The rich or the poor?
The poor will bear the burden of paying for the pandemic, not with cash but with decreases in public services. How sad! The parasites might not have as much to mooch. They might actually have to do something to provide for themselves, like everyone else. There is such a thing as systemically forced...

Re: An argument against materialism
There is no way to tell if consciousness or those quality of experience things you mention are anything other than localized phenomena arising from the material conditions where they seem to occur. We do know that reported conscious experience, and behavior, can be altered by changes to the brain. ...
