Re: Feminists Demonstrate Classic Nasal Envy
pssst Nick-A is such a die-hard, politicised, religiousised moron that if someone doesn't share his particular political/religious persuasion then they must automatically disagree with every single thing he says. Agreement from 'secular lefty commie bastards' simply doesn't compute or register in h...

Re: Interesting or true?
Is it more important for philosophy to be 'interesting' or 'true'? Of course the knee jerk response would be that philosophy should be 'true'. As it is the claim of some that philosophy is a search for 'truth'. But really 'true' is just a label that is attached to a statement or a piece of philosop...

Re: "She didn't set out to murder someone."
It's Americans who insist on driving enormous offensive-looking cars (with idiots in other countries following suit). I mean, do you really need something like this to drive a couple of brats around town to soccer matches, or one block to school? (Apparently we can't post photos any more, not even ...

Re: "She didn't set out to murder someone."
Of course. People always get in a car and drive off thinking 'I'm going to kill someone today'. I would love to see what she was driving. Yanks can't even drive manual, let alone those huge tanks that scream 'tiny dick' and/or 'inadequate arsehole who wants to bully everyone else on the road...

Re: "She didn't set out to murder someone."
And still the pedestrian died. Look here, this is the original hypothetical... The driver of the car was a 16-year-old wild child who was driving the family car without permission. She was distracted by a text message from her best friend. Meanwhile, the car was traveling at twice the posted speed ...

How long can science move forward?
The answer depends in part on what you call science, politics, economics, etc. as well as what it means to move forward. From my personal experience, I believe we've barely scratched the surface. If you consider sales as a science, there's no question for me we have a long way to go. E.g. I have rel...

Re: Missing Thread
Sorry but I didn't delete this OP but if it has been then it is not recoverable. What section was it in? AMod. I think it was in General Philosophical Discussion or perhaps the Lounge. It may have been started by Timeseeker, but I am unsure of that. Is it possible for someone other than a moderator...

Re: Missing Thread
I'll give you a clue, think about your post and the categories available on the forum or whether your post is even philosophical. AMod Already have. Posted threads asking what philosophy is which no one can satisfactorily answer. But why focus on me? Many members are left guessing why the threads k...

Probably the same place the 'mid-term elections' thread went: deletion land. You're right. Another mod mistake. 🇺🇲PhilX🇺🇲 No mistakes being made here. Try considering why a thread would be deleted upon a philosophy forum. AMod. Why keep us guessing and state the reason(s) for removal so we can lear...

Should philosophy adapt to circumstances or should circumstances adapt to philosophy?

Re: Missing Thread
On a different website, two of my threads were removed by a mod for unspecified reasons (probably due to pacifying a member who took exception). An admin took note and asked me if I would like them restored which I had done (and drew a nice response).

You're a perfect example of that.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 11:49 pm Smalll things amuse the tiniest of minds. (Spot the error. I'll leave you little presents now and then to liven up your dreary existence, because you clearly get a huge kick out of them.)
