'Gender' is prude for 'sex'.
A message for women and children here. Ignore your instincts that have been honed for millions of years. It's your DUTY to make men happy-- whatever the cost to yourself. If you see a creepy man, don't avoid him. Smile at him. Ask him out for coffee. Make him feel good about himself. Get into a car with him. Whatever it takes. Your purpose in life is to make men happy.

No. The three digits would need to come before the decimal point. That's ok though. You fit right in here.promethean75 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 1:58 am Don't know if you're counting fractions but mines 81.5

Re: 'Gender' is prude for 'sex'.
after seeing the video, I am confused as to your message...
are we trying to prevent suicides or are we trying to make men
feel better about themselves? what exactly is your message?
as a very long time married man, even I almost threw up when
you said to women, do anything to make a man feel better?
What kind of bullshit is that? its a two way street and both
side need to be kind to the other side... putting a man before a women,
to, what spare his feelings? that is bullshit... men are not snowflakes
that will melt if we are not treated like gods every second of every day...
I have been through crap that would melt most people, I don't need to
have my world ''soften'' to make me feel better about myself..

Except she didn't think he was creepy. The film doesn't suggest she get into a car with him or even ask him out for coffee.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 1:21 am A message for women and children here. The people who make the film have films with men in helping roles.
It says nothing about DUTY.
She was concerned and thought he needed help. If you see someone you think is creepy that's a different situation.
There's nothing in the film aimed a children.
What this has to do with the term gender vs. the term sex and what it has to do with prudery, who the fuck knows.
There is a decent message in your response. I mean, no one should feel duty-bound to walk up to strangers and help them. And if that person is likely to be stronger, even less so.
One could even frame your message as feminist. Don't feel like as a woman you have to take care of men's needs or even other people's needs or put yourself in danger to be a good woman or person. Forget that toxic message about what a good woman is.
But you managed to connect this decent idea to a hallucination of this video.
But hey, make up a lot of shit for no reason.
Just so you know, you could have managed to convey the core message without that video.

Ah, the thread's an excuse to insult people who participate. Sort of trolling posed as moral and safety concerns. Mildly creative.

Those aren't 'her' thoughts, they are the thoughts of whoever made this shitty video. And the message is clear: that the zillion to one chance that he's suicidal and that some trite words from a busybody stranger are going to change the rest of his shitty life outweigh the statistically far greater concerns around her own safety. Apparently in New York it's fairly commonplace for men to push random women off train platforms into the paths of oncoming trains. None of this should require explaining anyway. It's pathetic.Iwannaplato wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 5:41 amExcept she didn't think he was creepy. There's a good reason for the thread title. I'll leave you to work that out.

No no no. The video is clearly about black women with split personality disorders, nothing to do with the thread title.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 6:15 am Those aren't 'her' thoughts, they are the thoughts of whoever made this shitty video. Re: 'Gender' is prude for 'sex'.
It starts....
"If you think....."and presents us with the scenario. It's a made up scenario where a woman thinks that. And it is telling people 'if they think.....' then they could....
, they are the thoughts of whoever made this shitty video. And the message is clear: that the zillion to one chance that he's suicidal and that some trite words from a busybody stranger are going to change the rest of his shitty life outweigh the statistically far greater concerns around her own safety.
No, it doesn't say that. That's not her reaction. You are now putting thoughts into the hypothetical situation that are not present in that hypothetical situation.
Yes, women and men have gotten pushed off train platforms in New York. If you decide to look at the videos the victims are standing in front of the perps with their backs turned to them and the victims are standing closer to the tracks. So, vastly more vulnerable position, no evaluation of what that person is feeling or anything else.Apparently in New York it's fairly commonplace for men to push random women off train platforms into the paths of oncoming trains. None of this should require explaining anyway. It's pathetic.
Better to suggest people wait for trains with their backs to the walls of the platform or to a pillar or bench if this is your real concern.
Again, nothing about children (or women) being told it is their duty.
Nothing about going out for coffee with him. Nothing about getting into a stranger's car.
Perhaps there is. Perhaps there isn't. A lot of signs that the OP is confused in general. There's a good reason for the thread title. I'll leave you to work that out.
It's the making up a bunch of stuff that needs explaining, to come across justified, that is. If you don't want to, you won't, obviously.None of this should require explaining anyway.
You could of course write to that organization and suggest they change their video. I'm sure you've done that.

Re: 'Gender' is prude for 'sex'.
It's a silly video anyway. People tend to want privacy when they walk in front of a train. I live near train tracks and it happens occasionally, probably on average once every couple of years. No one would be stupid enough to do it at the station, because that's where the trains slow right down and come to a stop. You would have to be a masochistic idiot to do it there.
