Plato stands out among philosophers who have left an indelible mark on Western thought. Numerous later philosophers, including as Aristotle, Descartes, and Kant, have drawn inspiration from Plato's views on forms, knowledge, and reality. Scholars and audiences alike still pore over "the republic" and "the allegory of the cave," two of Plato's dialogues.
