Walker,
You committed the cardinal sin: you assumed folks would be curious enough to mebbe google American Marxism by Mark R. Levin.
No, you have to spoon feed it to them.

Re: American Marxism
If RC is serious then there are implications in such ignorance that don't need his verification.
Come to think of it, the same can be said if he's not serious.
Are you serious?

"Are you serious?"
Me?
Not one damn bit.
Not one damn bit.
Re: American Marxism
Marx once said "The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it.".
If anybody who wants to change the world is a Marxist, then I don't think I have ever met any non-Marxists.
Re: American Marxism
Levin makes the point that Marx was not a philosopher.
Neither was he an economist.
He was a journalist.
Neither was he an economist.
He was a journalist.

Re: American Marxism
“Dear” confers a seriousness not always received.
Re: American Marxism
i don't think so, Gates changed the world, Ford changed the world, there are ways to change the world without trying to get everyone else to do it for you like a Marxist would.
Re: American Marxism
Where in the quote that I presented did Marx say who should be changing the world and on whose behalf?

Re: American Marxism
In Marxist terms, the world refers to the social/political world. There are a great many people in this world who have no interest at all in changing that world, because it would mean changing others.
I'm sorry if the only acquaintances you have are those who cannot live without meddling in others' lives.
Re: American Marxism
In non-Marxist terms the world is the world. Society is just a small part of the world, and politics is just a small part of social life.RCSaunders wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 1:20 pm In Marxist terms, the world refers to the social/political world.

There are great many people who have interest in changing the world for the better. People who invent choice so that others have more of it.
I'm sorry if the only acquaintances you have are those who can't even change their underwear, let alone their minds.
