(We evolved intellect to think beyond the immediate. If we go back to "We must live fact to face with being, and not with the mind." we are devolving.)
We must embrace our evolution as the first order understanding of "good" in order to live with ourselves. Our intellect tells us that we are evolving away from nature, and so that direction is "better' by definition: more capable. But more capable relative to what? In a social sense, being more evolved to compete in a bullshit system would be a very strange definition of "better". No, it means those who best use their brains; the pointy end of the spear of evolution.
What to do about it
Mother nature has deluded us into believing she is beautiful by evolving us that way, but she is a random, vicious bitch, and never gave us the choice to be born. In order to eliminate the last traces of her ugliness - suffering, we're going to have to virtualize all sentient beings. So let's get to it.
