America's Adopt A Highway program is completely sadistic.
a) They target big businesses, metastasizing the unholy alliance between business and state
b) Like child adoption, equally bullshit, they don't actually give you any information about the program on their site. You have to give them all of YOUR information first, then wait for a response.
c) They're charging you to take over part of their responsibilities that you've already paid for in taxes.
d) Their site https://www.adoptahighway.com/ is a .com, indicating with complete clarity that they are NOT operating as a government entity but as a commercial one with a profit motive, which their "Get a Quote" feature verifies.
e) The only reason Any business hides their prices is if they're unreasonable. If they were reasonable they'd be in 88 point font across the top of their site.
f) The price is apparently between $200-600 Per Month! Which eliminates all but the very wealthy from even being able to consider participating.
