Do you exist? Just because a bunch of people reply to your post doesn't mean you exist, just that you're kinda popular.

Any 'thing' (object) that can be 'thought' about (imagined) exists, as the 'thought' dictates.QuantumT wrote: βSun May 20, 2018 6:08 pmSo it exists the same way as Donald Duck, kindaPhilosophy Explorer wrote: βSun May 20, 2018 4:46 am I would say that to say there is no art and beauty is self defeating because you must have an idea as to what it is in the first place before you can say it doesn't exist and ideas do exist in the mind where it counts the most so it doesn't matter if art and beauty have an actual physical existence or not as that would be irrelevant. The fact that art and beauty coincide for many people is a happy coincidence.

That is a valid point of view, but then you have to apply it to everything, not just art and beauty.
if you say so.
Doesnβt experience get into the DNA? When the experience is universal then the DNA is affected for all, creating a real condition of agreement.
Your intro statement is true, but it is true of everything, in the absence of biological consciousness the physical world is meaningless, there is art and there is beauty because it speaks to the order which is being, the order of your own being. The entirety of apparent reality, your everyday reality is a biological readout. Art and beauty are how things affect your body, your biology or how you are effected. Art is experience, art is knowledge, art is communication and art is about being and being in the world. Art by definition is, the ultimate inhuman creations.
It is quite true that things of this world just are, it is subjective consciousness that gives them values and meanings. So in the absence of a conscious subject, nothing has value or meaning. Humanity however is in the business of creating its reality by the projected meanings it places on the meaningless objects of the physical world. They have meaning due to the effects upon or the alteration they affect in our standing biology,
