How is it wrong? And who does it insult?

It's wrong because it defaces (in a cheap way) a living organism ('s home) without its consent or knowledge. And it's an insult to the organism called 'snail' and to nature in general.

Ridiculous!!!

As the snail is not competent to give consent of have knowledge, it is of no consequence.

If you eat vegetable, then you are personally responsible for the deaths of thousands of snails.

Snails are killed in their millions each year by farmers, and gardeners. I see no problem giving them five minutes of fame.

No snails are easier, because they move slowly, and are not likely to kill you. They are also in plentiful supply and are likley to be seen by other members of the public.

I can improve on this. How would the snail know it's home has been defaced?

This is not an improvement. I made a statement, you only ask a question.
