You image of evolution is exactly whats wrong with your(and many others, mainly Americans it seems) understanding of the process. As we did not evolve from chimps, we are primates like them, we evolved from a past common ancestor, they are our 'cousins' in a sense.

I didn't, was it good?
My dad used to take me when I was young, brilliant!
I thank you as it's made my realise I should(will) take my kids next year.
They tend to be a bit more 'fun' and a little less formal than previous years. But highly recommended.
This year it was psychology.
I have the excuse still - my son is 16 - don't I don't think it will stop us watching even when we are both 'too old'.
Some of the details repeated the illusions from this years "Horizon"; they talking about Phineas the man with a steel pole through his head; they did the get the sheep, the dog, and the hay across the river puzzle; brain scans - all good fun.

So are you an ape on your mother's side or your father's side?

Posting a link to wiki is not a demonstration of understanding. Have you read it all the way through? I doubt it and the reason why I doubt it is the earlier posts you made showing that you hadn't understood it even if you had read it.

I quite liked the images which show a black skin rather than a white one.
Obviously there is no way to say whether our ancestors and white or black skin - or accurately when the sundering of skin colour occurred, but generally black or 'yellow' skin is far more useful to hunter/gatherers than white. It's high time that the Eurocentric view was modified by a bit of reasoning.
White skin is far more likely to be the result of sexual selection as living inside is a mark of wealth and position.
Dear oh dear what awful cultural prejudices.
Russia and Europe are not exclusive BTW.
And the Russia Federation has been more keen to disarm nukes than the US in recent years.
