For sure, modern weapons tend to make war more destructive and less personable. Today we fight enemies who are nothing more than visual images on a video screen without character or personality. I know there is some movement toward the idea of fighting wars with non-lethal means, pepper spray etc.

Playing "paintball" is probably another fair way to allow people to fight each other without doing serious harm. It's at least better than trying to harm each other with bullets or other blunt objects including rocks and sticks. Although, I hear that those paintball pellets can really sting if you hit someone in the wrong (or else "right") place.

I'm OK for the most part. Just trying to deal with life in the absence of my dad. He's gone to the great prairie in the sky, I suppose (for lack of a better vision of an "afterlife"). Went this past March. He was a good dad. I just hope everything is/was OK for him. He didn't belong to any church. He seldom if ever talked about his religious views (if he had any). but he kept me on the straight and narrow and out of trouble for the most part. I owe him a lot. He kept the three of us (Mom and I included) together. That in itself is a difficult achievement to come by these days.

Sad to hear about yer Dad but yes good buddy. Thinking about doing a utube channel to talk about pretty much everything that happened to me (since 1997) courtesy of the dude barely anyone believes exists. Typing everything up atm to read on vid, researching AI tech to assist in trippy vid backgrounds to make etc.. Also considering as a bit of fun using AI to convert segments of Alpha Two to a graphic novel..

The old man wuz the oldest of two sisters and three brothers (one shot while burglarizing a house). Growed up on the poor working class side of Rocky Mount by the hand of a hard workin mother and a cheating ass alcoholic asshole father. Top of his class through highschool and into the Air Force for four years as a plane radar guy (goose in top gun). He's either a wuss or petty fuckin smaht (this wuz the Vietnam days), depending on your dasein. Ends up a computer programmer for IBM. Not the hard stuff. Cash register coding and shit like that. Middle class income.

I think he wuz an ephebophile like all of us becuz I seen em checkin out the young hotties what with the way they dress these days Jesus Christ. I can hardly blame em. His problem wuz he had not come to terms with his own shadow perv like the great majority of men fail to do.

two promjects are currently underway. i need an anaximander or anaximenes to help me out here. alright around the corner there under the deck. u see that down spout attached to the black drain that runs under the deck and down the slope (which u can't see). being pitched like that, the water flows no problemo.

if it stays that way I'll have to frame a hole in the slats for it to pass through and that might look sketchy.

I therefore pose the following question to those of u who are the most learned in the subject of fluid dynamics. if i instead put a down spout extension to bring it straight to the ground so that i can connect it to the black drain under the slats... i lose that pitch and am making the drain water go uphill for about two feet before it begins the decline down the slope (which u can't see).

BUT, even tho there would always be a small collection of water at the lowest point   (where it goes under the slats), wouldn't the weight of any additional water - say from a big rain storm - push the lowest water uphill and down or at leasr displace it?

in other words, is that really a problem? if there will only ever be a little stagnant water sitting in a completely sealed corrugated pipe underground, wouldn't i do that rather than have to cut a sketchy looking hole in the slats?

i feel like the total weight of water of a completely full down spout - if it ever were to be filled let's say - would force the water to flow through the low point. so there would never be a literal back-up of water. picture in your head what I'm saying when u look at the pic.

And they've got super expensive leaf guards on the gutters so sendiment and debris doesn't get into the gutters and down spouts. Thank u but I already considered that. I'm glad u thought of it tho and wuz like dude but what about sediment and debris settling in the low point, etc. That's what turns me on aboutcha. Your attention to detail

I took your advice and left the drain pipe where it wuz. Imma stain it all in a week.

Note: pressure treated lumber is usually 'wet' with the chemicals it's treated with and u should let it dry (cure) before u paint or stain it. If u don't, u trap/seal the excess chemicals in the wood and they may (tho not always) react with the paint/stain and cause bubbling and peeling.
