Well it's lucky that many western (ie high consuming) countries are at below replacement breeding percentages (including the US).

Obviously, but immigration into "high consuming" western countries increases World consumption because at least for a little while there is more to consume in Western countries, which is why folks go to them if possible, and that does negate the "lucky," caused by a below replacement birth rate, assuming less consumption by humans is luck and in fact beneficial to the "world."

However, having third world folks in the first world will cause them (and their progeny) to have fewer children generationally.
