Hi AS,
I could also be that America has a fairly infantile approach to the bodily functions as you appear to have no toilets but only bathrooms?

Uh...we have toilets but we prefer to use the term restroom or bathroom. A rest room does not have a bath....but you can rest on the toilet. A bathroom does have a bath or a shower which we call a half bath in real estate terminology. I would prefer to see the French "wc" signs as they sound so much better than saying restroom....but where was I...oh yeah...my point is...women in America prefer to live the fantasy...which demands that we have no bodily functions! hmmmph! :P

It's odd that you call "WC" French. What does in stand for in French?
I always thought it was very English.

Hi Chaz,

I wasn't referring to what it stand for (water closet) as much as the way the letters (W.C.)sound when pronounced in French. Doo bla vey say.....(the phonics don't look as pretty as they sound...lol) Anyway, I guess it doesn't matter what a restroom is called as long as they are plentiful, clean and in working order....which in my mind means a man must provide for a woman in that respect as it's not nice for little princess fingers to come in contact with such disgusting necessities. In fact, I would prefer that ya'll invent restrooms which are able to be cloaked. That way we could glide in and out with invisible ease and no one would be the wiser. Please attend to that wish asap...thank you. :P

Indeed your majestic one!!
I realise that as you are pure woman-ness, you presence in the unspeakable room is so light and delicate that you leave a perfumed glow as you exit, as if your delicate bottom had never so much as touched to seat, leaving no trace or evidence as to any activity you may have momentarily performed there. With such featherlike grace and decency you waft through like a delicate April mist leaving a hint of rainbow.

I wouldn´t like to hurt your national pride, AS, but even in the US not everybody has a lovely WC.
J. Robert Lennon´s "Mailman" mentions on page 114 a male prostitute

"living in a condemned warehouse building (no plumbing, only the trickle of rainwater into plastic five-gallon paint buckets and an unenclosed corner where everyone p..... and s...)"

Toiletts are an important part of life, I cannot agree more.
And this is also the reason why the so-called outcasts are appreciated in India because who would clean the toiletts if they disappeared ?

One problem with sharing a toilett with a man is that many of them pee in a standing position and then you can imagine how the surroundings smell if urine falls down from this hight.
Two options are available to solve this problem:
1. the man needs his own little basin for urinating, like in public male bathrooms (I think they are called "pissoirs" in French)
2. the man has to sit down for urinating, which is what German women train their men to do, I remember in a film a nasty woman asking another one, as if it was a matter of training a small kid: Hast du ihn schon so weit, dass er sich setzt ?

My option is that I do not share a toilett with a man. This is fair and simple.

National Pride????

I thought Mailman was a work of fiction?

That's a good option as long as you live alone. I live with 3 men and 3 bathrooms and I do alot of running upstairs to use the "clean" bathroom in my bedroom. Still, if it's the middle of the night and my husband has to go...what am I going to do...tell him to use the one downstairs? I'm mean but I'm not THAT mean...lol.

In Germany (pronounced oh-pé): operation (= surgery) or operation room.

Here probably: opening post or opening poster.

What exactly do you mean by "foreign"? America is so deeply cosmopolitan, the term seems to lose its descriptive force.

But its probably the same reason that English men are increasingly going for east-european women - they're generally slimmer, and wear more make-up. Or at least, the ones on the internet are.

New York, Washington CD, and L.A., are certainly Cosmopolitan, but the rest of the US is not; not at all.

In fact I am always surprised at how parochial and inward looking it is. For a so-called modernised country it ranks well below most places I have visited for being arrogant, biased and unimaginative about the state of the rest of the world.
