Hello everyone at Philosophy Now, I trust you are all well? My name is Dawn, Im 22 and I live in Glasgow, Scotland. I left school to study higher philosophy as it was not available on the curriculum at my secondary school and was taught by Dr Craig Ross (incredible man) and John Rafferty. I then studied 2 years of a joint Philosophy/Psychology degree at Glasgow University with their extensive staff including Chris Lindsey, Stephan Leuenberger, Richard King, Dudley Knowles and many others. I dropped out and/or put my studies on hold when i was offered an upgrade from part time to full time contract as a support worker for adults with mental, physical, emotional and learning difficulties. Im not married and I have no children. My interests are generally music, literature, art, war games and collecting memorabilia. Obviously im interested in Philosophy but only as a casual hobbyist reader, thinker and dreamer these days. I may not post very often but i shall be reading all sorts of debates and shall try and get involved when i dont feel stupider than everyone due to lack of letters before/after my name. I am always interested in making new friends and acquaintances so feel free to drop me a line to talk about absolutely anything x x

I'm about 10 miles down the road from Glasgow in Hamilton.

As for the cultural heritage, I still remember the strap line (paraphrased from memory) from a poster advertising a play set in Glasgow when it was European City of Culture in 1990:

"Glasgow: a city where some are born great, some achieve greatness and some are still chucking spears a buses"

Welcome Dawn, glad to make your acquaintance.

Ok, chucking spears at buses sounds kinda fun. Should I apply for citizenship?

The real name given to me by my mother is Typist B. Blowhard. She was a very insightful woman!

Ok, I lied.

Really it's Phil.

Darn, so boring.

Oh well.

It makes me feel like heaving a brick at a bus!!

If in doubt I tend to leave it as some bots look for replies as a sign of activity on a forum and mark it as active so they can keep posting to it.
